English Football Commentators

I'm English, and agree that the commentators are terrible. Guy Mowbrey should be taken out and forcibly held to to account for his biased clap-trap. Lawrenson is bumbling, Hansen does so many u-turns you'd think he was a politician, and Shearer is little more than a 'nice bloke'. Linaker does well to hold it together on the main programme.

Gary Neville on ITV can be insightful, but Roy Keane looks like there is someone just offscreen with a trolley and a hockey mask waiting to roll him back to the cage....

Italy were the better side, but do remember they played 120 minutes against us and couldn't score.... they weren't much better than us.

I actually think Hansen is one of the worse offenders tbh. They big England up so much you would be hard pressed to find there were any other teams in the competition. Heard someone moaning today on telly that they should stop penalty shoot outs because England were no good at them :rotfl:

I didn't mind Guy Mowbray but Mark Lawrenson is just awful. I'm sure I head him say he hoped an Italian player was badly injured last night. Surely it's time for the Beeb to get rid of him. I don't think he said anything more than 2 words long last night.

Mobray is good but mark is shocking. he said when an itallian player went down "about time" lmao im english and the commentry was just crap.

Having lived North of the border for ten years - the exact same thing happens with Scottish commentators - but it doesn't get noticed as it is so rare for Scotland even to qualify for the finals of any competition :D

Actually the biggest bore on TV is Alan Hansen - anyone know where he comes from ???

I'm Scottish, didn't want England to win and both me and my partner were shouting at the tv. Completely ridiculous commentary, totally biased!!

Also, how much do they keep going on about luck?? Every single game it's about how luck wasn't on England's side. If England were so brilliant they wouldn't need luck! They should have skill! But they have none.

Ahh but you see the difference there between the Scottish and English teams? We're crap and we know we're crap. England are crap and think they are something special. Hence the disappointment each time :rotfl:

Exactly! It's the 'we rule the world' 'we are unbeatable' attitude that rubs me up the wrong way. They need to admit that the team is mediocre!
