Thank you. If there's any karaoke or a spare mic around, or even just us at the table, I may well warble a tune or two.
Anyway, got to go now. Just the last bit of packing to do (why is it that the one thing you want you can't find just when you need it?), then eat some lunch & then I'm off. Have a great weekend everyone.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

6 Sept - Not a happy bunny today.
What started off as a slightly itchy throat on Monday rapidly became a raging cold, with me sneezing my head off on Tuesday at work, spluttering everywhere on Wednesday & blowing my nose like a departing ship every few seconds. I got sent home from work that afternoon, & didn't leave the house Thursday or Friday, as I could only just about make the short distance between the couch, the loo & my bed, expelling enough phlegm to re-glue a century's worth of stamps (sorry, I don't suppose you needed to know that, but there you go & you probably won't lick another stamp in a hurry
). I felt a bit better yesterday afternoon, but I knew that I'd be sick if I had to smell anything I tried to cook, so I ordered a Chinese takeaway last night & had a bit of that for dinner. This morning my breathing & chest were back to as bad as they'd been on Thursday, & my nose is raw from blowing it so much. I panicked a bit & my surgery sent a nurse round. She gave me some oxygen, has got me some antibiotics from the chemist & has said that I should stay in & rest especially while the weather's so bad, because if I get any worse I'll be back in hospital at some point next week.
I had a lunch to go to today & a party for tonight, but I knew days ago that I wouldn't be well enough for either of those, so they're no big deal. I'm thoroughly cheesed off though. I know my body's ability to recover from illness has been compromised forever because of my past ill-health, but it's a pain in the rear to be always feeling battered by something that other people can fight off within a couple of days. It's a permanent reminder that, no matter how well I look on the outside, I'm not 100% well at all & probably never will be.Anyway, it looks like I'm going to be stuck at home doing precious little for the next week - I'll organise a certificate next week, & then try to do the easiest of the many things that need doing at home until I get better. Though I know it wouldn't be sensible to be outside in this bad weather, I hate being forced to stay at home.

8 Sept - Saw the doctor today - I've been signed off work for a week starting today. I'm hoping that I'll feel better by Wednesday, as I'm getting cabin fever stuck indoors. Luckily, it's been raining a lot of today & I don't do rain, so it's been a Columbo-fest lying in front of the tv with tomato soup & bread for me today.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

(((hugs))) my sweet.
Glad you have seen the Dr. and got yourself signed off. Sounds like the sort of day I would have enjoyed today. My middle 'un had his first day at nursery today and the little 'un has really missed his brothers today and has been mithering at me all day plus I needed to do a major overhaul on the house as the Queen Mother aka my mum was visiting us today as it was midle 'un's birthday today. While trying to do all this various people have popped in to give me birthday bits for him as well. I feel cream crakered.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

23 Sept - I went to bingo on Saturday with friends, & we didn't win a bean. On Sunday, I got a sudden urge to go again, so I went on my own wondering why I'd spent a large portion of a weekend in a bingo hall when I should have been at home preparing to return to work tomorrow. Thank goodness I went - I won £1000! :j :j I stayed relatively calm until I got through my front door, & then I couldn't stop counting the notes. :rotfl:
There's no way I'm going to waste the money on daft things like food & Council Tax.I've spent the last two days trying to find a flight to the West Indies for January, & I finally found the best deal I think I'll get - under £400 for two weeks away (at that time of year, it would be surprising to get it for even £500), plus an MSE-inspired annual travel insurance policy. Less than four months to go until I see my Dad for his birthday, after over 12 years. I'll have enough money left over to finally get some carpet for my hall, stairs & landings. And I'll also be able to get some new things to take with me. After having to cancel my plans to travel this year, I'm determined to get on this flight, & it helps that it hasn't cost me any of my own money. Thanks, bingo! :T
