I don't blame you for sticking to your guns, but i agree with your friend to some extent.
Everythings gone up several % over the last 6 months so anyone doing an I & E now would be putting in higher amounts than 6 months ago.
You've played ball all along so any judge would take this into account.
Good luckThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
Thanks, BLTN. I know for a fact that my rent and Council Tax have gone up this month, & I bet my utilities have too.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

5 April - Two goodies came today. First of all, my mixer & some smaller bits came today (express delivery, as I haven't got the patience to wait once I'm excited about something arriving
). Everything seems to be there, but I can't set it all up, as I've got to get an assignment done ready to send off Monday morning, & if I start playing with music gear I'll never get any of it done at all.
The other thing that came was money-related.
Yes, I got my debit card & PIN during the week, & my cheque book came today! I'm stunned. I honestly never thought it would be as easy as it was, considering how difficult LTSB were being this time last year. I'll write more on this when it sinks in a bit more.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Well done on the debit card and cheque book - you must feel that is another step to normalacy. If your expenses have gone up then surely you would be entitled to submit them. I hope it doesn't end up having to go to court but if it does I know you are strong enough to go through it and win! Good luck.

6 April - Parked myself at my office for a large part of today, as I had an OU assignment to get done. I just can't concentrate at home - what with the tv, the phone, forums, e-mails, music etc: it's just too easy to do something else instead of my study. I'd already done all the coursework for this assignment, so it was 'just' a matter of going through them all & putting things together into an essay. The hardest part was the word count - I write as much as I talk, so word limits are like swear words to me, I just find them really difficult to work to.
Anyway, after 6 hours of solid typing & reading, I had it all done! :jI'm going to give it a last read tonight, & then either send it off before bed or do it first thing in the morning. There's no fixed deadline for this one, but I'd told my tutor that she'd have it for tomorrow - I can send it online & get confirmation it's been received seconds later, so I'm really glad I've managed to do it in time. Everyone studies differently, & it looks like my way is going to be shifting myself to the office every couple of weeks for a study catch-up. Thank goodness I work near home & have my own keys. This self-improvement lark isn't easy.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

12 April - Got a letter from Moorcroft today claiming I owe well over £200 to my telecoms provider & they were therefore letting me know of intended litigation. I rang up my telecoms company who confirmed that I didn't owe them anything. It seems that when part of the company was bought by another company a year or so ago, the new owners took over the business customers & the old company continued dealing with residential ones. The new company has managed to get its hands on an old list of residential customers, with the result they're now chasing debts that either don't exist or exist but were accrued under the previous ownership. I spoke to Moorcroft who told me that the debt goes back to end of 2005 & is related to my old address (this letter only got to me because my mail's still being redirected), so I told them that all bills due at that address were paid up before I moved out. The man wanted my new address & phone number, which I refused to give.
I'll send them a fax sometime this weekend (after removing all identifying headers) confirming what I've said. I'm 100% sure I paid up everything before moving. If the debt genuinely existed, it was owed to the previous business entity so bigger fool the new owner of it for not chasing up the money until so long after I went BR - this is the first I've ever heard from them about it, & I haven't lived at that address for well over 2 years. I'll include my BR case ref in the fax, & then forget about it. I'm glad to see that me moving out seems to have caused almost as many problems for creditors now as it did for me moving in the first place.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

You know, I wonder how many people pay up anyway even if they don't owe it a) because they can't be bothered to chase it up or b) because the letter scares them? I hope you don't hear from them again but if you do, at least you have your BR reference handy!

Thats has always worried me. If a DCA fishes and sends out 20 letters to similar names, how many pay the same debt? And when do they write it off if some pay but not the actual debt owner? And surely it cant be legal?0
