I don't think they are to hot on e-mail replies. I sent one to my OR which took him a mth to reply to,the nxt withinn 48hrs. Last time i e-mailed got no reply so rang and he said "yes i got your e-mail",so why the blinking heck did he not reply
. I thought it would be better to e-mail so they could rely when they got time. Must be busy:D

Last year, my OR was very slow to reply to e-mails, but had a miraculous speed-up when I contacted his manager.
I've done the e-mails to keep a paper trail showing I've been contacting them & getting nowhere, but if I haven't received the info by Friday morning, I'll ring their managers direct about it.

Thanks, Tiger. I had another tutorial tonight, & my tutor said she was very pleased with my work so far. I told her that I'd had trouble with the word count, & she said that she expected that because creative people always want to say too much.
She said I write very well, which is good to hear as my future living will be based on being able to write at least reasonably well.

16 April (early) - Found out the perils of freeware-grabbing yesterday. On Monday, I went to that site "Giveaway of the Day" & installed a piece of software that was supposed going to make my life easier. As if! I noticed that my system started to run a bit slower after installing it, but didn't have time to do anything about it. Then yesterday morning, I switched my laptop on & found it loaded the desktop & did nothing else.  I managed to find out using my work pc & going online for techie advice (not paying Dell's stupid charges for anything) that if I pressed F2 repeatedly, I could get into the BIOS then change the start-up to Safe Mode, then I'd be able to see what was going on. Did that, & found the cheeky software automatically installed to run at start-up & was connecting to another program, resulting in it freezing my system! It's gone now, & thankfully I'm back online, :j though I've lost some study time.
This has taught me some valuable lessons. (1) Not everything that's free is worth having, (2) keep a printed record of your system user guide or manual that you can use if the system won’t work, along with contact numbers, e-mail addresses & website links for whoever you got it from, & (3) back-up your system regularly, so that if all else fails you haven't lost your files.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Phew!! thankfully you could sort it out.
Hope you are well at the moment.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Would like to echo Tigerfeet's words on your writing. Given the hoo-hah about that article in the Independent, perhaps you should put together a first-person account of bankruptcy for them, and send it in on spec? As long as you are clear about it, they should respect your right to anonymity. ("The names in this article have been changed etc") They should pay you for it too.
