I only had the landings & stairs to do, & they're nearly finished, thank goodness.
My ill-health forced me to re-think my future anyway, but it was doing all that singing during the Christmas break that made me realise my heart was still in my music, & that I still have a good voice, even if I say so myself. I knew then that, if I was going to put some proper time & effort into it, there's no better time than now to get stuck in - no debts to think about (apart from my £50 IPA, which might go too if the OR says I can't afford it any more), decent computers & software to work with & a whole day a week in which to write, network etc. It might seem selfish to some, but I've given a lot to other people over the years, so I've deliberately not told any of my family of my plans. If I tell them, I'll be getting phone calls asking me to do such & such, etc - not loads, but enough interruptions & expectations to disrupt my thoughts & end up costing me a lot of valuable time. I will tell them eventually, but not for a good while, & definitely not until I've got all my plans underway. It's not about being a pop star, but about getting my music & poetry out of me & into listenable/readable form before I'm so old that people start clapping out of pity instead of appreciation.
Assuming my application goes through, I'm going to:
(a) do the shopping on a Thursday night (my local Asda's open 24 hours) or early Friday morning, so that I don't have to think about the queues on a weekend.
(b) spend Friday writing poetry & music, going to performances & related meetings/seminars, & working on the website etc, with the answering machine on.
That'll leave me my weekend to do all the normal stuff. I can't wait, so I've got everything crossed hoping it all goes through without a problem.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Instead of being able to study in the comfort of her own home, she's had to park herself at the library for several hours at a time, just to get away from the droppers-in, people who expect her to respond to an e-mail within minutes of them sending it just because she's at home & "obviously" has free time on her hands.

Well deserved too, wdiag. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
