Hi WDIAG
I have just finished reading your diary and wow what a journey you have had! (Hope you are feeling better now?).
Did you go BR in Brighton? Only ask as see you went out on NYE in Hove and think the volunter scheme you spoke about sounded great and I would need someone to be with me when I go BR as suffer from PND and panic attacks and dont think the courts would be happy with 2 under 5's in tow just so I could take OH with me.
You diary is so full of help and information and I have learnt so much from it and only hope I can find the type of strength you have when I do BR in the next few months.

Hi Jojo,
No, I went BR at the Royal Courts of Justice (the Strand, London) - I just spend quite a bit of time in Brighton & Hove. I'd think there are other volunteer services around at some of the bigger courts, & someone from a local debt advisory service might be willing to go with you.
Thanks for the comment on my diary. I find it difficult to keep a paper one these days, but doing it on here seems much easier & it's good to know it's of use to others besides myself.
As for my stomach, it's just as well I've got ADSL & not a dial-up connection, because I'm still doing that run to the loo every few minutes & I'm missing out on what had all the makings of a great party. I know I'd miss my bowels if I didn't have them, but I really wish they'd left it until Monday to lose the fight with gravity.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Hope you're feeling better today, wdiag.
Jojo - phone the court and see if they operate a 'friends' scheme.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

22 Jan – Good old LTSB. They originally told me (while I was undischarged) that they'd only update my credit files once I'd posted them the original discharge documents, so they’d deal with it when I get discharged at the end of March 2008. And very smug they were about it too. I took great pleasure in contacting them earlier this month & saying that I’d be faxing my ED to them. I got a letter from them today confirming receipt of my documents, & saying my files should be updated with the credit reference agencies by mid-Feb. The letter says my credit files should be updated to show partially-satisfied with zero balance. Here's hoping I hear from the others soon.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

I didn't think that they could mark it 'Partially Satisfied' after BR. I was under the impression that they should mark just 'satisfied' with a date not after your ED.I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. Hi Rog,
As long as the balance is zero they can mark it as partially satified. Natwest do the same, and included an explanation in a letter to me, as to why they do it.
I can't remember the quoute verbatim, but something along the lines of "as responsible lenders we have to acknowledge that the terms of the contract were breached and payment wasn't made in full or at all".

25 Jan - Well, the deed is done. I've told my line manager that I want to reduce my hours & she's spoken to her boss about it, so now I've just got to fill in the form I finally managed to get hold of today (why is it so hard to get info from HR departments when you really need it?
), get it approved before the end of the month & then send it in to HR. Their main concern is whether I'll be able to do my job in 4 days a week, & I think I can. Yes, it means concentrating more during the day & not being quite so relaxed about the time I arrive each day, but that's no bad thing. It did irritate me a bit when the issue came up though, as if I really wouldn't have thought about that before raising the issue in the first place.

Thats good news, lets hope it all works out for you.
You might even enjoy the disipline that comes with fitting 5 days into 4.
Now you'll have loads of time to sand your floorboards:TThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0
