31 Dec - I haven't done this diary for several weeks, but with today being the end of the year it seems right to be adding something to it.
I can't believe how much has happened this year - I went from insolvent (some would say 'inept') to BR, then to discharged all within 6 months! I've had illness, surgery, lots of time to recover mentally & physically, time that I probably needed even without illness to contend with. I dreaded the start of 2007 - looking back on it, I don't regret anything that happened nor do I feel glad to see the year end. I feel really ready to face 2008 - I'll hopefully be reducing my hours at work by the end of January, which will give me more time for the things I need to do (as oposed to the things other people want me to do), & I'm really hopeful that I'll be able to get so much more done with my time & energies.
All the best to everyone who's gone BR ths year or will be going BR next year. I can't say I've exactly enjoyed this year, but given how it could have been, I feel I experienced a lot that was worthwhile & I don't feel sad/bad/mad about any of it. 2008 can only be better, especially if a new man comes on the scene.

And to you wdiag - long may you keep this thread going. :T :TI am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

Hi wdiag,
I hope all your plans and expectations for 2008 bear fruit; not just a new man but your other plans too;) .
You've been a tower of strength on this Forum, and a true asset to people who've been at the end of their tether. It's not just about being able to give accurate advice on any number of different subjects; it's about being able to offer heartfelt support and consolation when it's needed.:A
I wish you a Happy, Prosperous and Fulfilling New Year,

Thanks, guys.
I've been in Brighton all week, & I've been out nearly every night. I'll need a rest when I get back home, as I'm out at a party tonight. Thank goodness I'm not back at work for a few more days.

Hi WDIAG,
I've just sat here and read your diary from start to finish and I feel completely inspired by it
What a journey you've had, from those early days of fighting with the DIY to the scary days leading up to BR, your illness and surgery and now look at you
I feel quite honoured actually to have 'shared it' with you. You really are an inspiration.
Hope you have a very happy 2008
