2 July - Back here for the first time since losing my battle with the unit. Could barely move all weekend, as my hand started to swell Friday & got worse over the weekend, my leg wouldn't stop thumping, plus all my bruises have come up making it very uncomfortable to sit in one position for more than a few minutes. Have spent a fair bit of this afternoon catching up on what's been happening - will have to reply to e-mails later or tomorrow, as my fingers are already starting to hurt.
Had to ring my OR again today - found out at the weekend that my building society apparently still hasn't received the letter he was supposed to be sending them. He told me today that he faxed & posted letters to them on Tuesday, so I can only assume the posted ones got held up in the postal strike on Friday. He said he'll ring them today about it & re-fax the letter if necessary - they said they'd ring me when they get the letter, so if I don't hear from them by about Thursday then I'll have to ring him again. This is one of the worst bits about being BR - I don't mind not having a credit card, overdraft facilities etc, but I do mind having to go through someone else to get something done that I could do myself in a few minutes if I was allowed to. :mad:BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

7 July - Looks like joining up with a credit reference agency was worth the money. In the last month, they've sent me 5 alerts of changes to my credit file, one of which was an error. A bank put an alert on my file for arrears, yet I didn't owe them any money when they closed my account - in fact, I was in credit & they sent me a cheque for the credit balance! I've managed to get it corrected today by telephoning the company involved, but it's just as well I've seen the information now as it might have been a lot harder to sort out further down the line. I'll probably stay with the agency for the next few months, as it's really helpful to be able to deal with these issues as they arise.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

Hi wherediditallgo,
I would like to thank you for writing this diary, this and many other things on this site gave me strenght to really start to sort my life out. I hope you are feeling better now than you have been, you are truely an inspiration, your story had me sitting here crying and laughing at times you have such a way with words, I went through all sorts of other emotions with you too as I read it.
I guess you may say there are lots of other diarys here too, but yours was the one I stumbled on, and I just wanted to let you know, I think you are a great lady and you had a big impact on me.
Well done for everything you have achieved ;-)Looking to the horizon... instead of over my shoulder real soon!!:rolleyes:0 -

Why do people do this? If you don't want to live with someone any more, fair enough. But why do something you full well know is going to saddle them with your debts, ruin their credit rating etc, just because you can?
Wherediditallgo I'm so glad you've written this as its exactly the reason I declared myself BR two weeks ago. When I left my ex fiancee he told me he was going to buy me out of our flat as I had moved back home 100 miles away from where we lived together, 6 months later I got a letter from his Trustee telling me he'd gone BR leaving me with a huge mortgage and massive loan to pay. I've made myself ill with worry and finally decided BR was my only option. I'm 24 and can now make a fresh start and I'm so glad I've done it. Have my phone interview with the OR next week so your reading your diary has been a huge help.0
