Oh, but they do!!!! Firebox do a pack (think there is a choice of two selections) and they really taste like they are meant to with a nice minty aftertaste (my brother got some for last Xmas). Hope that helps
If it's any consolation I had the worst B'day of my life this year, we couldn't afford anything at all, and was crying buckets as I thought I wouldn't even get a card from OH as we couldn't afford it, but the poppet made me a really beautiful one, and emptied the 1p penny pot to go buy me a Freddie Frog choccy bar (I think they're about 10p lol). The thought was the nicest thing ever, and was one of the best birthdays ever because of that. Am panicing coz it's his soonish and my artistic skills aren't very good, so will probably try and make a card with an abstract design lol.

I've had a nice lazy day - my Mum rang singing Happy Birthday down the phone. She decided to make me a cake & drowned it with rum - she didn't remember until too late that I can't have any cake or alchohol, so she's had loads of it because her sister (she's staying with her at the moment) doesn't allow alcohol in the house, & she didn't want her to find out what she'd been doing. She'd been helping herself to the rum while she was baking. By the time she rang singing, she was well on her way to being absolutely pie-eyed.She comes to me mid-July, & I've already been told that she needs help, as her sister thinks Mum's too old to be this stupid. She's only 74, so there's a while to go yet before she behaves like a sensible woman.
Have got loads of cards, but the nicest bits were the gifts from friends. They weren't material things costing money as I told people not to do that this year, they were IOUs - one has promised to help with decorating, another's going to help with the garden (she hates gardening, so it's a real gift for her to be prepared to do it), another who won't do any DIY in his house has promised to do a load in mine, & another works in a beauty salon & has promised me a manicure a month until I go on holiday early in December. Also got some Sainsbury's vouchers, which I'll keep for times when I'm strapped for cash for food shopping. Another friend's great at sewing & has said that if I pick the material, he (yes, HE) will make me a load of skirts & sarongs to take on my holiday, so that's a weight off my mind as I knew clothing was going to be expensive. I've been promised a lovely pedicure for tonight & a facial for tomorrow, so I'll look like a new woman by the end.
Got on the bus to go home, but fell asleep & ended up at Ikea - I just hope I didn't dribble . Had a look in their bargain section, & saw a desk that's just what I need. It's only got a titchy bit of scratching on the back that no-one's ever going to see, & I got it for £10 instead of £50! I'm so pleased, as £50 was my limit. I'm getting free delivery too because I know one of the guys working there & he said he'd drop it round on his way home for me. :j Bargains are great!BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

I wish I didn't enjoy chocolate so much - there are loads of foods I can't eat for a long while (or maybe never again ) because of having next to no stomach left & no ability to digest them until my remaining stomach recovers, but chocolate's honestly been the hardest thing to give up.
Why not write him a poem or do a range of IOUs like my friends did for me? You could say things like "I owe you 5 lie-ins this month without nagging you to make me a cup of tea", or "I owe you 3 evenings without me asking for the TV remote" to make it a bit jokey, but also include some more meaningful ones as well.
Really sorry about your health problems - I had a stomach ulcer a few years ago and that was horrid so can understand a tiny bit of not being able to eat things (very ouchy indeed). Huge hugs.
And thank you for the ideas that is so lovely. It would have to be something like 'you can make an outfit for yourself whilst I deal with proper work' or something though, as we don't watch tv in the evening, all we ever do is work (we have about an hour off to eat our dinner). We really want to make a go of things, so the hard work now will eventually pay off, will have to think really hard at what I can IOU him though lol.Do not feed the trolls please.0 -
29 June - Won't be on here for a day or two, as I managed to do myself an injury this morning & it's all my own fault. I've been trying to re-organise the study for days as I've got family coming to stay soon, & saw some units I really liked. However, I knew I couldn't afford them, so I decided to recycle one I already had. I needed to get the back off it, but over the last few days I've broken a craft knife on it & nearly shook myself to pieces trying to use a drill to go through it. So, bright spark that I am, this morning I decided to STAND on the back & see if my weight would break it.
Now I know the answer to that question - it gave way as soon as I stood on it & broke in half, with the result that I ended up with one leg going through the backing then going under me, the rest of my weight following on & me somehow turning round mid-spin & dive & ending up with the other leg up near my head, & the rest of me stuck inside the blessed unit! I had to lever the shell of the thing over my head & wriggle about for what seemed like ages to get out from it. I've just spent 3 hours in A&E having a gashed leg stitched & a badly sprained wrist strapped up, & I've got some very sore weals up my right arm where the backing took the layers of skin off as I fell through it. I've managed to heavily bruise my operation site, & have had a severe ticking off from a doctor who was trying not to laugh at my tale of woe & failing miserably, not helped by my friend who was giggling herself silly.
I've been banned from doing anything that requires any lifting for the next few days until all my swelling goes down (I wasn't supposed to be lifting anything anyway because of my operation, but we all know what it's like when you start to feel better - you think you're Superwoman & then find out you're nothing like her), so I STILL can't get the room organised on schedule. On the plus side, at least it's good to know I'm still young enough to be daft. On the minus side, I want to do things, & having had weeks at home not being able to do much, I was really looking forward to cracking on with sorting through boxes that have been sitting around unopened for months. To have this setback has really cheesed me off, even though I can laugh (a bit) at what I must have looked like inside the unit.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."

I don't mind you laughing - I've just told my mum, & she nearly wet herself! If something like that's going to happen, I can guarantee it's going to happen to me.BSC #53 - "Never mistake activity for achievement."
