Not surprising! You ever seen inside those takeaways?! But yet for whatever reason they still look appealing when you're on the way home from a pub. The drunker you are the more appealing...!!! :rotfl:

Does anyone else find that they are more "stingy" when making meals for themselves?

For example, I've noticed I'll happily spend £12 on a pizza from dominos, but I hate spending £3.50 on the chicago town "takeaway" pizzas from tescos because I can buy a pizza for £1.50 from tescos, this is despite the fact that the chicago town ones taste as nice as dominos ones and I should probably look at them as saving me ordering out rather than replacing a £1.50 pizza....

Don't like Domino's so don't have that issue. But still have to agree. Our usual would be £1.50 frozen from Tesco's, but when we're having a proper pizza night we 'splash out' on the 2 for £4 fresh ones outta Asda!!! :rotfl:

Very unusually 3 times in the last 5 days!! Thurs lunch at the pub with OH, fri tea in ikea with the kids and sun all of us had Thai buffet.

Thurs was a celebration, Fri was planned as a bribe to keep dd quiet whilst we boguht new office furniture and Sun was totally spontaneous but also celebratory. I did think after we shoudl have planned it better and got some vouchers beforehand!!

We very rarely have takeaway - oh might get a dominios as a treat if I'm out but I much prefer to eat out or cook myself.

  • Where are the best Kebab houses in the UK? I know New York has one which I would go to if I ever went but in UK, London, elsewhere??

  • Drunk punters should not have to put up with unhygienic Kebab Shops, getting wasted? is worth more. Mind you it is probably a good combination to relieve drunkeness?

  • £12 is easy to spend on yourself if you care for yourself.
I can think of a few items I would get Takeaway that would cost me £12.
Fish and Chips £6, a lovely ready made desert £3 and an iced coffee to take me over £12 mark.

A week last Sunday for a Chinese takeaway. And it was disappointing, apart from the lemongrass chicken satay.

No takeaways allowed this month as there's a few too many outgoings this month. In fact I'm making a real effort to use up some of my stock cupboard. There's a large bag of basmati rice that needs eating!

We used to have a weekly takeaway - now reduced to monthly,we put the savings towards our holiday (£9.50 sun deals!) We eat out every couple of months and use the local Fayre and square,2 meals for a tenner - and I have a £5 voucher for that this week!!
