when did you last go out for a meal/have a takeaway?

Usually 1-2 takeaways a week, we're very naughty. I pay for one, OH pays for one. Meals out are only about once every 2 months though!

Echoing others on here - a lot less than before we had the small people! With babysitters and the cost of the meal itself it all comes to too much money.

We tend to save it for special occasions. Last month, DS got a special award at school
and he was allowed to choose a Chinese or Indian takeaway or eat in fish and chips. He choose fish and chips and thought he was in paradise!
We don't have a monthly budget for meals out but we do make sure there is at least one session of tea / coffee and cake for all four of us once a month. Shockingly expensive and almost never as good as homemade cake but it feels special to us.MFW Challenge 2019 - £2,420 / £2,420 - 100% :T0 -
I had a McDonald's on the weekend - but my other half paid for that so nothing spent on my part!
I find myself fancying a take-away every now and then, but when it actually comes to parting with the money I change my mind and cook something at home!

I got through phases, but probably about 1ce a month for both over the year. Can go for months without meal out, then will have 3 in the same week. I always plan ahead so that I can afford it, and not afraid to tell friends that I'm trying to save money so we can choose restaurants that suit all pockets0

When settled in a home, I'd usually have 2-3 takeaways per year. But I've been unsettled/moving a lot in the past year or so... in fact I'm moving twice this week and probably twice next week ... so takeaways tend to make things easy. I last had a takeaway Friday night when I picked up Kebab meat after a house clearance and move into a new temporary home. I contemplated pie/chips last night, but then opted for buying a pie and some oven chips instead at the shop, as it was cheaper.
I'll probably have another takeaway on Friday night, after I've relocated 200 miles away, unless I end up living in a hotel for the weekend, in which case it'll be a £1 supermarket sandwich... which doesn't really count.
I very rarely eat out at sit down places because it's really sad to sit and eat alone - and I've been refused entry from several restaurants for asking for a "table for one", even when they've been completely empty.0 -

Nothing wrong with going for a meal on your own, I'd take a Kindle or somethingDon't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -
I tend to go out for meals when I am with my Family [of birth] where we try to get the best quality food possible.
I love going to restaurants so long as they are excellent but good ones are few and far between.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Once a month. We have a budget and when its gone it's gone. We usually pick a mid month Friday night and throw in a bottle of wine too.
The last time we went out for a meal was my birthday and the £61 bill put me right off ever eating there again. I decided against the £30 bill for cinema tickets and we watched a DVD instead. Sad, I know. A year ago, I wouldn't have batted any eyelid...now, I have to force myself to spend it.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
