  • I took my dad out to Nando's for fathers day and i'm going to a pub for a 3 course meal on Thursday- but that was bought with a groupon voucher so very mse. I used to have a lot of takeaways but probably have about 2 a month now at the most.

Having seen and smelt the delivery lorry that takes the meat around the takeaways I took to making my own curry.

  • Me and my hubby went to TGI Fridays on Sat night, first meal out since Christmas. Don't usually get an option of a babysitter (as I refuse to pay, so have to grovel with parents lol!) so we don't go out much really..although saying that, I was totally gobsmacked that we spent £60 on a meal for two, which cost more than my weekly shop for four!! I think cutting back and being frugal puts things into perspective and I don't know how people can waste that kind of money several times a week  xx

Was away last week so ate out on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Tuesday's bistro meal cost £60 for 2 of us plus LO, Wednesday's takeaway cost £30 for the three of us and Friday's meal cost about £35 for 2 of us. I normally spend £80-100 a week on food shopping, so it was comparatively a lot, but it happens so rarely and it was nice to have a break from cooking.

Eta: we go to our local twice a month - one evening for a bar meal and one Sunday for a roast. Costs about £40 a time.

Ooh, meals out! I remember when we were affluent and child free these used to happen every week. Must admit, we enjoyed every minute!:D

Now we rarely go out together due to finding babysitters. Last time we had lunch together was March (thought it would be cheaper than dinner out!) but probably every 6 weeks or so we will go out separately with mates.

We treat the kids to a McD's or fish and chips every other month.

Funny isn't it, unless it's a fantastic meal I just sit there thinking how much cheaper it would have been had we made it at home!;)

We got a takeaway on Friday night - I had roast duck in plum sauce with chips and DH got honey chilli chicken with egg fried rice, was lovely :D

That said, that was our first takeaway in about 4 months :p

I went out last night. Was a chinese and eat as much as you want. 2 cokes then water. was £22 including tip. I thought it was ok. We dont go out as a big group of friends that often so was nice.

Take aways (including chips) probably once a week. Meal out that I pay for is about 1 a month.

    hmmmmmm,

my husband, my daughter and i shared a subway footlong three ways about 2 months ago....

before that, hmmm, fed the kids homemade stuff, then hubby and i got a fish and chips (kids portions) and ate it, in front of the TV after the small people were in bed.... cost a grand total of 5 quid and was bloody luxury!

lol, we don't do meals pout... tend to get frozen pizza as a treat... loads of good deals there!!

    xx
