I also second drop scones - the river cottage wholemeal ones are lovely and very filling! I like to serve mine with pan fried fruit slices in butter - great for using fruit past its best too!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

I know you've said *other than porridge* but my suggestion is just that... but to think of it like rice or pasta. No, I don't mean sling a curry on it, but think of flavourings and fillings to add.
My autumn favourite is small cubes of apple and some cinnamon - apple pie porridge!
Closer to Christmas some mixed dried fruit (cheaper than raisins too I find) feels festiveOn the up

Muffins either sweet or savory go down well here, I make the batter up the night before and then put in the oven whilst I'm in the shower.

Though for a quick easy and health breakfast you cant beat porridge, like others I add thinks to it like stewed or dried fruit, OH like golden syrup

I agree with this.... My DS is going through a phase of experimenting with his porridge in the morning... Same with Weetabix.
His favourite weetabix breakfast at the minute is to spread the biscuits with Chocolate spread and add Strawberries or banana (or both) and hot milk.
This morning he added nutella and banana to his porridge, yesterday it was honey and banana... Cinnamon and raisin is another one he likes!
He never has the same breakfast two days running, and he loves itSometimes lurking, sometimes posting, but always flying
