My Hubby got me on to mediterraneanish veggie breakfast type thing - falafel, humous, pitta, fried egg, beans ooh can't remember what else will have to ask him. Didn't like the sound of it at first but really like it now - usually on a Sunday.
Yes! OH got me on to veg breakfasts, but they really are just that - thinly sliced cucumber, tomato, pickle and occasionally an egg or cheese on the side. Visitors think its odd but its healthy and yummy!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

Kedgeree, basically curry, rice, hard boiled eggs, fish.
Jamie Oliver did one in his Family Xmas programme on telly tonight, so you could watch it online to see his, or just google some recipes.0 -
Whip up an egg in a Pyrex ovenproof glass jug, throw in a small amount of grated cheese and cook for about one & a half minutes on Medium in your microwave. If you want bacon in it, slice up a rasher and cook it alone in the jug for a minute before you slosh in the egg and grated cheese.
I spent some time perfecting scrambled eggs in the microwave. I just use eggs, nothing else. My perfected method is:
- use a round dish, anything microwaveable will do
- chuck the eggs in and nuke for 1 minute
- run a FORK round the outside and mash the outsides in
- nuke for 30 seconds
- run a FORK round the outside and mash the outsides in
- nuke for 15 seconds
- run a FORK round the outside and mash the outsides in
Depending on how many eggs you use, you might want to nuke it for a little longer to start with, but after that just keep halving the time until you're down to 15 seconds between stirs.
Using the fork I found mashed it in easier/better.
Using the shorter and shorter cook times means it doesn't stick to the edge and you can cook it more evenly and pull it out before it's overdone.
Once you've done your final nuking, chuck in a knob of butter/marg and fork in all together, then tip out onto the plate or onto toast.
Using a fork and the above method I can now get perfectly cooked, moist, scrambled eggs every time.0 -

Hi mortgage help,
What about homemade museli bars, yoghurt and fruit, savoury scones, bacon sandwiches, smoothies?
There are a couple of links on this thread that may help:

I'll add your thread to that one later to keep the ideas together.

I know it isn't to everyones taste but I love cold rice pudding.
If you have a slow cooker it only takes 3 hours to cook which will cost you pennies (ok. pence) in electricity, the ingredients won't cost the earth either.0 -
Sausages on toast (wrap in foil straight away to prevent going dry). Those big long snags that you get a dozen of for 2 quid at Farmfoods.
Halve the snags lengthways and add sauce of choice (maybe a couple of mushrooms or an egg on borthdays)
I like Toasted waffles too.

If you want cereal and milk, lakeland do a bowl with a seperate milk holder that clips on top. Tried to find it on their website, but can't. Have seen it in the shop though. DD has one and uses it for work.I Believe in saving money!!!:T
