My breakfsts are quite generous - a choice from eggs, beans, porage, mushrooms, tomatoes, wholemeal toast, occasional bacon plus juice and tea - and OH and I really enjoy the start to the day. We do have cereal occasionally but usually when we're going to have a largeish lunch with visitors/restaurant.
What I wanted to ask is whether not eating breakfast is bad because when you get hungry you might just grab crisps, chocolate or whatever's easiest or is it to do with metabolism or something? Anyone know?0 -
Crumpets with butter, yummie. Only at the weekend though, much too calorific for weekdays, which is either grapefruit or banana and crispbread. The time will come when you have everything but time.0

Apparently your brain tells you to grab something which is high calorie, quick in take - subconciously (sp?) as your body thinks you might starve so thats why chocolate etc is something we grab 1st - it was on a prog on bbc2 about dieting. Thats why you should eat breakfast0 -
I dont usually get breakfast, i don't really feel like eatting first thing, when i've just got up. and i usually don't have the time.
when i do have time, or have been up for a few hours i like toast and cheese or scrambled egg with cheese through it.
Although i cannot get up and not have at least one coffee while getting ready. I usually have 2 cups of coffee before leaving the house0 -
Home made smoothie for me using frozen berries, oats, apple juice, orange juice, yogurt and half a banana. I make about 500ml and down the lot about 20mins before I cycle to work - easily digestible and enough energy to keep me going till lunch (with the other half a banana as a snack). I use Basics range of everything to keep it MS.
And on a Sunday morning I have a homemade version of a McDs Egg McMuffin using ham instead of bacon. Yummy.0 -
I have to go with smoothie/green smoothie. Bananas, an apple, blueberries, mango, 2 kiwis, celery, spinach, an orange and wheatgerm (you can use different fruits/vegetables as I don't just use those but at least 7 different ones) and make myself at least 1L of smoothie.
It doesn't cost all that much as I buy a lot of fruit and vegetables reduced. Certainly better than most of the pakaged sh!te that most places sell for brekki.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0 -
I always eat breakfast,if i don't i start feeling faint by 10 o'clock. I have either toast with peanut butter and raspberry jam or i do like jordans country crisp cereal with nuts. I am not a great fruit eater so smoothies and the like wouldn't appeal to me. In the winter i do like a nice bowl of porridge with honey drizzled on top.0

Anything from cold pizza, hot noodles, crossaints, bacon with eggs, toast, porridge.
I mix and match everything. Breakfast is my biggest meal. I used to skip it but once I started having breakfast, my weight stayed even and it wasn't a problem to be more productive during the day0 -
I don't normally feel like breakfast, it takes me an hour or two to get hungry when I wake up. Before then, the last thing I fancy is food, so I tend to have something at 10 or 11am instead.
I usually have a fruit smoothie with linseeds, fruit with yogurt and honey or rye toast and jam. I do buy the odd box of cereal, but usually eaten for supper or as a superfast snack if I need something quick!0 -
I try to eat it - honest! When I'm rushing to get out to work it sometimes goes out of the window though.
Yes, I know it's wrong and I can get it cheaper if I buy the oats and make my own - but generally a sachet of Oatso Simple with some honey in to sweeten it up a bit... just easy enough to cope with on a morning.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
