Got to agree with that amclursent, i thought as i watched that programme last night, how many people have garden makeovers like that. It looked very nice when it was finished but what did it cost. This isn't another Gardeners World where you can get ideas for your own plot, it's more of an idea how to set out a garden for Chelsea.
Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,
What it may grow to in time, I know not what.

Totally agree about Alan Titchmarsh's programme. Clearly it is great for the family involved and I was pleased for them. But how much did that garden cost? £30k? £40k? The design is out of reach and impractical for most of the people watching. Embarrassing.

I've not managed to watch either of the episodes yest (i have them recorded) It's a shame because the program last year showed some promise. I'll watch them but wont hold out much hope. I'm really not interested in watching an updated ground force.

I watched the first program from Hampton court last night. Very interesting and always feels a little less up itself than Chelsea,

Instead of complaining about lack of gardening programmes......why not actually get out in the garden one evening. Go green and switch off your TV's.
Not sure about you but there are times when I can't Garden (normally in darkness)

Alan's ITV show is truly appaling, he's sold out the last shred of credibility he had.

Yes you are right it is "appaling"

It is too full of do goody goody stuff and again has the usual young bimbows fluttering their eyes thinking it will get them on in broadcasting - some hope!

It's enough to make you throw up!

If you have recorded but not watched I suggest you just hit delete and save the TV!

Appalling dont cover it.....We needed a gardening prog with information to help us week by week of what we should be doing in the garden.....

This is too much like Ground Force, Oh yea it was good when it was on but we need practical advise about how to garden, not how to have a show garden with so many expensive shrubs/plants/trees........

Yes I do feel for families with disabled children, but when you have BOTH parents at home all day and yet the garden gets in a mess and you have to call in a TV crew and celebrity to get it sorted , " that dont float my boat".......Sorry Alan buts its a definate NO NO from me.....

In both of the programmes that I've watched the front gardens were tidy enough and why don't all of the friends who turned up at the end get their finger out if they thought help was needed? There always has to be a 'message' in programmes these days (mainly advertising new products)
The budget was totally off the scale for most people. A programme based on the principles of the Greenfingered forum would be more helpful and interesting most people.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.
