Have not watched GW for years so will not miss it.:(I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

Someone told me there was a good feature on this week's edition, so I went to iPlayer to have a look. I lasted about 30 seconds before the emetic quality of the gurgling Mony Don got the better of me and I hit the 'off' switch.
That said, this has been an argument about the BBC since the days of poor old Geoff Hamilton (the last GW presenter who was any good). The metropolitan luvvies who run the BBC don't 'get' gardening. It has always been a long way down the pecking order, to be tossed overboard the moment the 'drama' of an international tiddleywinks contest from Zagreb can be found to replace it.0 -

If we had more gardening progs on tv then we would have a choice of which one to watch, so for now it has to be GW, I know Alan is back next week, but for years its just been GW...............0 -
I have also complained and asked the BBC if there will be any coverage of Hampton Court Flower Show 3-8 July and Tatton Flower Show 18-22 July. The beautiful thing about learning is nobody can take it away from you.
Thanks to everyone who contributes to this wonderful forum. I'm very grateful for the guidance and friendliness that I always receive from you.

I have complained, and have before too, but here is the problem. I am writing post 18 on a thread about this which we found out on friday. I guess gardening is a minority interest and opinion on gw is such that lots of people who would want gardening shows hate gw and won't complain, even though if they did more priority might go to the gardeners in scheduling.
I made the point that instead of watching sport iwanted advice and education on something that would have me going out and doing something active. Better for the health, and certainly within public service remit!0 -
