    How so????

Because if we single any race out we deserve to first get a FWW then dismissed. Racist jokes are essentially bullying. It leaves the minority out they are the joke which is unfair.

However, alot of people are racist so probably alot of people being dismissed

So why do you not know how to capitalise the start of your sentences and how to punctuate them at the end with a full stop?

Because, we are just online I don't usually put much effort in to grammar. But, as you see, I am capable

well I tend to keep my jokes out of the workplace but maybe he didn't think.

depends what u call racism, i don't make bad jokes about other cultures but i beleive their the reason for so many of us being on the dole

When you use the term US being on the dole whom are you talking about? And why do you say you believe they are the reason why people are on the dole? Where are you getting your facts from?

The OP said he made a series of jokes and for all you know he could be the other cultures your talking about.
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

How are other cultures or jokes about other cultures the reason that so many of 'you' are on the dole?

Your comment [in case you have forgotten] was...

Because, employers are quick to dismiss. It should be a FWW first, the culprit should also be sent on an equality and diversity course to study other cultures.

Most, I admit was a massive exageration on my part

    us meaning britain in general

I don't think enough racists are on the dole, personally. Unfortunately, many are still employed. :(

'The only good racist'...and all that.

Like most things, we will have to agree to disagree on that point.

Well, to be honest it is just nice to have a discussion with you and MB for once without it needing to be an argument.

funny thing is, I just learned about discrimination and racism in my sova training

I would just like to be clear that I wasn't having a discussion with you. I was giving you a chance not to dig yourself into the hole you just carried on digging without any help from anyone. Clearly, given the views you have expressed here, any equality and diversity training you had didn't "take". It isn't supposed to be about knowing better than to tell racist jokes in the workplace. It is about respecting people for their differences, whether those be based on race, creed, age, discaility, gender or other unimportant characteristics. Like not blaming "them" for unemployment. Unemployment is a structural outcome of the prevailing economic system. It is not the fault of other people trying to make a living to support their families. Any more than it is, for example, the fault of people who want to have second jobs when they already have one???

The phrase 'shooting fish in a barrel' comes to mind here.
  • It really depends on the jokes , In my last workplace Jokes about the English , Gingers and Whites were commonplace and if you raised a complaint you were literally laughed out.

But then if any jokes were about the welsh or asians it was nearly a 100% sacking if a complaint was made.

The downside is that PC is so screwed up that it really is down to the person listening,

I remember 1 from my last employer where an African-English bloke kept saying "Ya get me ma !!!!!!" after nearly everything he said. but then Complained when a woman daughter asked him why did he keep referring to a country , He actually lodged a complaint about the daughter (an 8 year old) being racist.
