The same jokes are "funny" then.
Only self denunciation is acceptable !

Maybe in your workplace. Not in mine. We don't find stereotyping funny at all.

I will be interviewed soon and I know that, as part of it, I will be listening to the recording. I don't know who recorded it but I suspect it was with the eye to use it maliciously. I'm not saying what I did was right, it was VERY stupid and I know that now. I knew it not long after the person expressed distaste whereas others had found it amusing.

I also have been looking for other jobs, I started searching when I was told it would go to panel.

I would also suggest murdering the cretinous !!!!!!!/!!!!! who felt it necessary to report you. Or take their entire family hostage until they apologise profusely and offer to become your personal slave.

And there is part of your problem. It was distasteful and not amusing, and if people were finding the comments funny then that should have been a big hint to stop because they were obviously missing the point you say you were trying to make. I don't know whether the person was being malicious or not, but it doesn't matter if they were. You walked into this and you know that. Attacking the motivation or credibility of the person who complained is the fastest way to ensure a dismissal. If anything you should be offering to apologise to them for the offence caused.

So, how exactly did the jokes illustrate a point? If you can't answer that on here then how are you going to do it in a disciplinary meeting?
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

Mostly you are right. But if the recording has been edited to lose context, there is some evidence of malice which should be pointed out while majoring on the loss of context.

If they are going to sack you and they offer you the chance to resign, then I would take it if you want to keep them on your c.v.(If you can get an agreed reference off them)
If you get sacked for racism, then its going to be very difficult for you to get another job if you declare thats why you left.
You've got quite a lot to think about really, if they do sack you then I wouldnt be using them for a reference.
I think you would either have to go self employed or lie and say that you've been doing something elce. I know people think its terrible lying to an employer but at the end of the day you have to put yourself and your family first.

I think you need to apologise for your actions & start looking for a new job.

Your in the education business yet you chose to tell not one but a series of racist jokes which you class as overtones.
You seem annoyed that someone taped and reported you hence you saying they did it malicioulsy why!!! You say you can explain why you told them, but causing offence to others is what you clearly done even when you could tell that you had gone to far.
It's better to regret something I did do than to regret something that I didn’t. :EasterBun

Did you hear the one about the Englishman, Irishman and Scotsman.........oh hang on a minute. God I hate what this world has become and how serious people are. There's an industry within an industry making sure peoples feelings arent getting hurt and it is crippling our nation. We cant afford to be competitive anymore with all the constraints.
