I'm definitely going for the choc-caramel fudge. Last year I made limoncello (lemon flavoured vodka) which folk loved so I'll make that again. I'll also make nice paper bags for the stuff to go into with ribbon deco and little felt deco for trees. I found the thread Christmas Crafting Ideas by Flyingpig very inspiring. I'll make a we list of things tonight and generate a list of things I need to buy.
finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)

That link didn't work for me.

I have decided on my next shop I will get 2 packs of stuffing and a tin of celebrations. We shop fortnightly so after that I will then plan to spend £5 of my food budget each fortnight or £10 per month or a few bits for Christmas in hopes we wont even notice it being spent :)

I brought a couple of bits from the Entertainer yesterday 2 pig paint your own money boxes £6 reduced to £3 as token gifts to my babys godparents children and also another thing reduced from £15 to £3.75 (dont remember what its called) for one of the girls birthday. I used a discount code found on myvouchercodes.co.uk.

I am still waiting for Lovefilm to get back to me regarding my £15 amazon voucher before i can place that order (and it is really annoying me now!) because once that is done all I have to do is a few bits from the supermarket nearer the time and wait for a free del or discount at the disneystore then all christmas and birthdays done for the rest of the year!

i must start on the pre christmas clean to at some point!

how early can i make mince pies for the freezer?
Everything is always better after a cup of tea
  • Anyone ever thought of making dinner a little more fun? There is a range of musical crackers/magical crackers you can buy!
  • I love this thread - I haven't done anymore for my prep as I have been on a tight budget but I am going to try and pick up a few things in the coming month.

Going to start a Christmas Eve hamper tradition (its our first year living together) which will be nice - hand't heard of these before so thanks to those who gave ideas for them - will definitely have to get some nice comfy Christmas pjs for me and some christmas socks for OH ;)

Obviously won't work for you this year, and I'm not pretending this is an original idea or anything, but I always get my xmas socks/pants etc in the sales after xmas. I particularly like DS's xmas pants for this year, LOL!!

    I love this idea :

I will remember that for next year!

I have just been to stock up on cat food at Morrisons (48 pk Whiskas for £10 if anyone is interested :T) and also picked up two men's shower gels which were on offer as stocking fillers - little step in the right direction. Was going to buy a box of Quality Street as they were £2 but I already have After Eights & Elizebeth Shaw mint crisps put away from the offer at Tesco so don't want to overdo it as it will be mainly us eating them :o

Now you mention it I rather fancy rum and raisin fudge -
    http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/955636/rum-and-raisin-fudge
but I don't want to buy a bottle of rum to make it.

Instead of buying a big bottle, most off licences have mini-bar sized ones for a couple of quid. One would easily do a couple of batches of fudge :)

Spotted them on the High Street yesterday... and was most happy to realise I didn't need to buy any:rotfl:
