Yeah I've actually got presents put awya this year, have had for a while, not too much, but a few things for DS who is 9 and DH (who is 60 but that doesn't matter, lol) I got DS Teach yourself to play the harmonica - which he's love and I'll regret, I know, some DVD's and some model type toys, I got DH the complete works of Shakespeare - can not believe what I paid for it, it was truly cheap. Looks good though.
I'm quite pleased with myself - this is the first year DS has known that it's us not Santa so it's been a lot easier to just ask him what he wants, rather than listening hard and making notes."There is no substitute for time."

I have bought my Mam's Christmas present! This is a huge relief for me because she is always the one I struggle to buy for. So she is getting a handbag and best of all it had a 1/3 off in the J*hn L*wis sale! :jGive us the strength to encounter that which is to come, that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temparate in wrath, and in all changes of fortune, and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another.”0

Hello!
I subscribed ages ago but have just spent the afternoon catching up.
I have brought almost all my Christmas presents.
I am buying my own on behalf of hubby this year (I don't mind) So I have those few bits and a DVD for him, a DVD for our Christmas eve hamper and a small yankee candle votive which I am placing an order for on Ama3on just as soon as my lov3film voucher comes through (had to email today to chase it up!) besides those bits I have to get some foody items for our stockings and christmas eve hamper which i will get nearer the time.
All presents that have been brought are actually wrapped and labelled already.
Our baby is due 30th Nov and I am trying to have everything done so that when people visit us (for a change) i can hand them their presents and save on p&p.
I used wrapping paper and cards from years past.
I intend on writing the cards in late September.
This will be only our 2nd Christmas in 8 years alone and our first as mummy and daddy so though money is tight we want to make it extra special. Our Christmas eve hamper will be small, a dvd, a small yankee candle votive, 99p lager for hubby, diet coke for me, popcorn and gingerbread men and a little outfit i got from the carboot for the baby.
But I saw people on here mentioning creating their own hampers by getting a few bits each month in time for christmas, what exactly do you get? I mean LOL all I can think of is stuffing rofl.
could anyone give me some ideas as doing this will not only save time and money but will make it seem a real luxury!
look forward to getting to know everyone betterEverything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

It depends what your traditions are really, but you could get cake/pudding, or the ingredients for them, sausages and bacon and put in the freezer, make brandy butter and freeze, turkey and frozen veg, bread sauce mix, alcohol, nuts etc - anything you might normally eat which will either keep till then or freeze. I believe the big tins of chocs are already at £5 in some supermarkets too.0 -
I forgot to mention also that I got the Robinsons mincemeat from A$da and it was 20p a jar for those looking for it.
Thank you possession I didn't think about frozen things! I was just thinking cardboard box under the bed thingsEverything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
