Gee squiz Bad Weather  £1k!!!! I think I need to lie down and it's not even my money :rotfl: XxDebts @ LBM £23,729.31. Debts @ 08/04/2016 £0 :j
Best win so far - holiday to Florida0 -
Sorry I've been MIA/AWOL for so long! ('hectic at work' reasons lucky, so that could be classed as both nice and nasty!!) Thanks everyone for stopping by whilst I was gone
Haven't thought any more about crimbo yet, but I like your idea of hampers for the 3 girls unix. Did manage to get a couple of bits like that last year for the older 2, but could do it properly this time with a bit more planning. Will probably still leave a few extra ££ to give them cash - you know what teenagers are like!! lol
Bad Weather - ouch!! Heaven help you if you ever do have kids!!
Have totally and utterly lost track of spending/no spending, so have joined the Oct NSD challenge late and I'm going for 8 NSDs.
Was at mums for several hours on Saturday and did a massive clearout in the atticHandful of things for the bin. Few bits and pieces for the girls to make use of and a couple things for me/the house. And boot full of stuff dropped off to charity this morning
I probably could've stuck a lot on ebay, but to be honest, it's more hassle than it's worth and I don't need the money - the charity does. Great feeling for doing that too
Brought home a handful of photo albums to go through. One word....
Was fun/scary looking through old pics of me from Primary School and stuff. Basically just pulled out a handful of photos to keep in one album and ditched the rest. Still got a bundle at mums to sort through too....
NVQ still sitting at 56% coz my tutor was on hols so the last stuff I submitted hasn't been assessed yet. Hopefully it'll be done by Monday afternoon.
Things all good and (fairly!) quiet in the HAW house!
Have had a couple of texts with big sis - one being a photo of my wee niece in the outfit I bought her which was cute
SIL texted me yesterday for the 1st time in.... dunno how long actually! I'm still not totally happy about stuff so playing it cool for now. Have only seen her briefly once, and I was with OH so was all happy chatty for those few minutes.
I'm sure I've lots else to tell but my minds taken a blank right now!!
Hope everyone is doing ok. Think I've been round most of the diaries already to say hi.
Keep smiling everyoneWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -

Anyone seeing why I got into debtand believe it or not that is me budgeting! Used to spend a LOT more on everyone (I think everyone has heard me rant about that at someone point) And used to go on more xmas nights outs.
HAW - Well done on clear out and handing in NVQ course work! Nearly there! Will be such a relief when finished!

Bad Weather is it a specific hotel you're staying in? The one near us (we're 20 min from Edinburgh) is charging 1.5 times their normal rate. Which I thought wasn't too bad.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. You can enjoy it even if you don't understand it and too much can give you a headache the next day J0

Yeh that is not bad at all, some places were double AND some were asking for 2-3 night minimum over new year. My friend is going aswell so have booked an apartment instead near wedding - worked out cheaper I believe (because its new year) and because its 2 nights! :money: Then the plan is we will take through some tea and coffee and breakfast so again should work out cheaper!
Wedding is at the Balmoral hotel  Should be AMAZING though but obviously will cost us a small fortune. x0 -
Bad Weather, if its at the Balmoral take a hip flask with you (or tea bags if you don't drink) I went to a 30th there and its extortionate!CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. I make a rule of only buying stuff in charity shops at lunch time. And only using cash in my £5 a week pocket money slot in my wallet.0

Yes. Very much so. Esp if that is with budgeting!
Yeah I'll be glad to see the back of it for sureunixgirluk wrote: »The one near us is charging 1.5 times their normal rate. Which I thought wasn't too bad.
 Not too bad?? Think I'll stay at homeI begrudge paying extortionate prices for taxis/drinks/hotels just coz it's the new year. In saying that, it's not as big a thing here as it is in Scotland. Don't think I've ever actually gone out on NYE!
But take the hip flask with you as unix suggests:D

Hello and welcome to my diary :D
Ah! That's a great idea - only charity shops. I do go an browse on occasion but rarely buy anything. I'm rather partial to the bags of Barnardos Sweets for Life beside the counters in the Post Office though!:rotfl:
Surveys - I've let slide. Rather a lot. Really need to get back in the way of going with them!
Hopefully get a night away in Nov for OHs birthday - wanna get that booked sooner rather than later.
Been in touch with my friend in Glasgow about a visit. The weekend she's suggested the flights are less than £70 so hopefully she'll give the go-ahead for that. Def ready for the breakWealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
So much for getting into the NO spending habit
Oops!
Finally got a hotel booked for OHs birthday! :j:D It's a 4* Radisson with good reviews, and for a really good price. Can't wait! Soooo ready for the break away!!!:D:D
Went and got him a cordless drill (!!) at lunchtime. He never asks for any presents so I couldn't not get it for him! Boys and their toys, huh?!
Will head out for a meal with the girls that weekend too
No plans for the weekend as yet. Hopefully a fairly chillaxed oneForecast is pretty decent so we'll maybe get out on the bikes/motorbike a wee skoot.
How is everybody else? Anything exciting planned for the weekend?Wealth is what you're left with when all your money runs out0 -
