New cat litter to try????
Comments
-
I'm doing a full change of all litter trays tomorrow. Will post my thoughts then... until then, I'm sticking with my 40L
Please do Friday ...... mine's arrived (at DPs) but it will be middle of next week before I can collect it.
Think I'm going to try it in one tray & leave the wood pellets in the other and see what happens ......
Based on GRs calcs of 120L lasting 4 cats 6 months (ish)
40L lasts 4 cats 2 months
40L should last 2 cats 4 months - so my 80L should last around 8 months:)
That works out at £3.75 / month :j compared to current costs of around £11 / month
Now, £7 / month saving might not sound a lot - but over the year, it's £84 - which will cover the cost of both their boosters :T so def worth a tryGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

I've got 2 large downstairs trays and one slightly smaller upstairs tray. I'm going to put OKO in the upstairs tray and one downstairs, and put the new stuff in the other downstairs tray. I found when I was assessing Worlds Best vs OKO, it was an easy way to make a comparison.
First impressions, without even opening the new stuff, is that it's much heavier than OKO, but I don't suppose that's really an issue, just a slight pain when storing.0 -
Having manoeuvred 30 litre bags of Tigerino and 40l of OKO today, I must say I don't think there is a massive weight difference. The Tigerino handles are carp though and both gave way on me when I picked the bag up.0

Interesting... I thought 30L of Tigerino was noticeably heavier than the 30L of OKO that I got from Pet Supermarket, when I moved them both today. But the handles of the Tigerino were ok for me!0 -
Aside for the fact that we are all so sad.... to be so excited about cat litter
I will be testing it my way - will spplit a 10 litre bag between 2 trays and if it lasts 2 weeks - it is as good (economical) as Oko as I was using 20 litres of Oko per months for my 4 monsters.
If 10 litres of Tigerino does not last 2 weeks - it is not as good (economical) as Oko.
I have a feeling it may not as 10 litre bag of Tigerino is not as big as 10 litre bag of Oko - Oko is definitely lighter so there is more of it in a bag but.. will see....0 -
I agree.... I can't believe we have had this much discussion over cat litter :rotfl::rotfl: Shows how passionate we all are about our little loved ones0

Even if it doesn't last quite as long, it may still be cheaper in the long run as it's cheaper than the Oko.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Well, all three trays have been emptied, cleaned, disinfected, dried and re-filled! My initial thoughts of the Tigerino (or whatever it's called, can't remember!) are that it is pretty good!
It is very similar to OKO in consistency, perhaps a little finer which is no bad thingWhen you look at the two downstairs trays which are side-by-side, you wouldn't know that there are two different litters in them.
So a thumbs up from me so far! But of course the most important tests are still to come - will the cats use it and how will it compare to OKO when they do?0 -
Oh dear I feel so left out with both FridayCat and Paddypaws staring on tigerino....
Looked at my trays and still a lot of Oko in them, possibly another week wait.....
How sad is THAT?
