Cheers,
My loan isn't actually with egg, so the egg card seemed a good option. Hopefully I can just transfer it straight away and bypass having to do that anyway. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I currently have £2200 on a Marbles Mastercard and £400 on a Barclaycard Visa. I am unable to take out any more credit as I have recently lost my job and due to go travelling.
Would it be possible for my Mum to take out the a new Barclaycard to take advantage of the 0% BT for 13 months and then transfer my debts to her new card?
Many thanks0 -
Hey!
I'm about to tootle my way to Barclay's for this 0% for 13mths offer thingy to transfer my balance from Mint to remain interest free. I had a Barclaycard about 3 yrs ago when i was at uni.
Are they going to refuse me? I never ever used it and didn't transfer any balances (I don't think!) ???
Help!! This is all so hard!

Received an application form in the post today.
Just a mail shot,no name or address on the envelope.0 -
I am right in thinking that if I was to apply for a second card (mastercard as I already have visa) and get the same 0% deal, I can't do balance transfer between the same companies.
The reason I thought this was as I have a monument card which barclaycard also own and I once tried to do a bt for this to my visa and they said they don't alllow it, therefore if I applied for a new mastercard to bt it would still be useless to me?

martin,
I dont currently have a cc, or any credit apart from my mortgage. with the 0% offer, could i write myself a credit card cheque (cash advance) and put up to the credit limit they give me to invest/put in a savings account like ing direct? or would they charge for the advance?
thanks carlos0 -
Received my application form the other day, hand delivered.
Part of the terms and conditions said:
We reserve the right to refuse a balance transfer or to limit the amount that can be transferred, in any case the minimum is £250 and the maximum will be £5,000, subject to the available credit limit on your account. Should we honour amounts in excess of your balance transfer limit they will be debited to your account and charged at 6.9% APR.
<end of qoute>
There is a section to enter balance transfers when applying for the credit card. You could enter values greater than £5k on this form.
I'm not saying Barclaycard will be disingenuous, but If someone has a £10k limit and applies for £9k they could end up paying 6.9% on the £4k.
Best not to try it on and only apply up to the maximum of £5k for balance transfers.0 -

What's the score if as I do, you have a Barclaycard Visa but no mastercard. Bcard obviously do encourage people to hold both. Would the new customer offer be available if I took out a mastercard?0

Got my application today in a branch, gonna send it off ASAP and see what limit BC are able to offer me. Fingers crossed!
Anyone already applied and heard anything back? I see the application form is 2nd class pre-paid... doesn't bode well for a quick turn around!Cider Country Solar PV generator: 3.7kWp Enfinity system on unshaded SE (-36deg azimuth) & 45deg roof0
