I backup all my work documents at least once a week. I have once had my backup memory corrupt though so I'm now in the habit of sending myself an email backup just in case.
  • Rarely, maybe once a year if i remember.

I just posted this but try using online data storage providers like digidrive.co.uk

Important files and documents every month! Lost some really important files last year - won't happen again!

At work - data and emails every day to an external HDD, via SyncToy and a scheduled task. (Paranoia strikes bad when you have suffered a failed HDD and have had to get it sent away to a data recovery company, for an extortionate fee!)

At home - when I remember to an external HDD, again using SyncToy.

I always worry about people suggesting firms about which I've heard nothing. Would you trust your data to a stranger? Their product looks interesting, but when I tried looking on PC Pro for their "review", a google search of the whole site revealed nothing. It all makes me very uncertain - not what you want for backups!

If you want to back up data to the cloud, try a TNO (Trust No One) architecture like jungledisk. Alternatively, go for a name you know and trust: Google have just released GoogleDrive, which is like DropBox, but much cheaper - anything you put in the folder is backed up seamlessly.
