well lets try and clear it up.

the car and free tax is for the benefit of who the award was given to,it is for their benefit regardless of who actually has to drive it.
the award is given to the claimant so if they dont drive or cant drive they have to have someone nominated.
to say that other person cant use it if claimant is not in it is ridiculous.they may have to travel to the claimant they may work they may live round the corner.

what i am trying to get across is that if the claimant is getting benefit from a mobility car free tax or both theres is no problem at all

Oh no they cant, ask the DVLA, it has nothing at all to do with motability but everything to do with the disabled tax disc.

    Yes they can.

Let me tell you a true story shall I?

My daughter has cmt type 1a

She is not a free loader, sponger or whatever you want to call it. She is a student with a student loan like most people her age, there are few jobs around.

Her disability started when she was 13. Her muscles are weak and are wasting away. She walks with crutches and is now getting a wheelchair. She is slow to react to things too because the message in the brain takes longer to get to her muscles, so she cant move quickly enough if there is danger. She suffers form poor circulation and so even in middle of Summer she is cold.

She is now 21 and wehave to look after her. She can pass on this condition possible when she has kids

Just because some people milk the system then that does not mean others do.

Jealously really is nasty trait. Do you know whats its like to see your child grow up like that? well let me tell you as a parent you feel responsible. We worry about her all time, like what if she gets worse? what if she wants kids? How will she manage when we are not here, believe me that is a worry. If you are a parent you would feel the same about your kids

Just because you read stories on here whatever that implies, I assume you feel they are some how taking the Mick.

No one has suggested anyone wants free petrol on you did

The DLA is there to help people get a normal life as possible by giving financial help with care and transport it can no where come close enough for all the help but it does help with some needs.

Oh and any mistakes I make is because I am tired but thats no concern of you I must be faking it

Like I've already said, my opinions have been formed from reading stories ON HERE, comprendez??

and the word is "their" when talking about people's needs. And no, I'm not selfish, I pay my own way in life.

Thousands of motability cars will have to go back unless you can meet this criteria, under the new welcomed shake up PIP

Can move up to 50 metres unaided but no further. For example: identifies individuals who can move up to 50 metres unaided but then require a wheelchair for anything further.Cannot move up to 50 metres without using an aid or appliance, other than a wheelchair or a motorised device. that will go down like a sack of manure for the ones who have free cars for things that the rest of us have to just get on with.
When your life is a mess, stop and think what you are doing before bringing more kids into it, it's not fair on them.

won't be long until petrol is free for them as well
Comments like that really make my blood boil. My husband had his 2nd leg amputated on Monday (first leg amputated 8 years ago) so now he has no legs at all, yet there's still people out there who will moan about people like him having a Motability car or free road tax.

That car will allow him to get about and have a little tiny bit of independence and normality. And believe me when I say we would love for him to wake up tomorrow with 2 legs and be fit and healthy, we could stop all of his benefits and we would happily hand back the car and skip out of the garage.

who says I'm moaning "about people like him"? I'm moaning about the ones who have the free stuff who shouldn't have it, but still get it cos "they is entitled"

They are few and far between tbh. Even the governments own figures state that fraudulent claims are low. Yes, we probably all know someone who's on the fiddle or seem to be. It certainly doesn't mean they all are. Remember there are also invisible disabilities, just because you don't see it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

And the car is not FREE. They give up their DLA payments to get it. Which yes, can be a very good deal, but it's not free.

You just have to read some of Soapn's post to realise that the more you answer her the more she moans about it.

But thanks for the idea of free petrol, I hope you suggest it to your MP.
