Morning all!
Had a good night's sleep last night for the first time in ages - have woken up raring to go for a change. Nature has finally taken its course and I'm also less bloated and feel "empty" if you know what I mean!;) Jumped on the scales and I'm back to where I was before the hols, so all damage undone.
Maman - I took your advice and did the mositurising with some holiday skin stuff and I think its working. Thanks for that.
So today's plans involve plenty of dog walking, popping to town for some hair dye and Dove shampoo (on offer in Superdrug), changing back 110 Euros into GBP, diving into the library and cleaning the house and doing some schoolwork. Exercise-wise I'll do another run later - its cooler today so hopefully it will be a bit easier.
I think I'm going to investigate a BB cream for my face as, with the tan, foundation just looks daft - completely the wrong colour - so I'm going without at the moment but will need something for when I go back to work. Will pop to Boots and ask a nice lady for some help (hopefully not an orange lady!) I'm olive skinned so go very brown very quickly in the sun and make up just looks all wrong - need some help.
If anyone has any advice its all gratefully received!
I've also put aside the best part of £200 for some new work clothes so will have a look to see if there's anything nice around but my little town doesn't have many shops, will probably have a trip to the Trafford Centre next week.
Right, the dog needs walking so we'd better be off to the park. Hope everyone has a good day. xx0 -
Good morning!
Yesterday, after feeling slightly low in the morning/early afternoon I felt quite good in the evening and I had a nice evening pampering myself: face mask, deep conditioning mask for my hair, de-fuzzed and removed old nail varnish (remembering my toes!). It felt quite good to be able to eat normally too!
Woke up feeling slightly slimmer so I thought I'd weigh myself and I have lost 1lb this morning.Another low cal day today. Feel spurred on my slight weight loss! Packed my partner his low cal lunch (but ended up giving him too many cals so will have to give him a bit less this evening!) and had a bowl of cereal and tea with skimmed milk (156 calories so far).
Evilsquid - Just read your post which made me laugh because I am actually wearing a pair of jeggings!  Don't worry, I am wearing a long top so no undies on display! I actually like jeggings/leggings as they are really comfy, and sometimes I don't always feel comfortable about getting my pasty legs out so it means I can wear a short dress/shirt and also not worry about being indecent! There are actually some really nice designs out there and some of them are actually quite smart/dressy looking.
WW - well done on losing your holiday lbs so quickly! :T Enjoy your time shopping, I hope you get some good bargains.
I have work this afternoon just for a couple of hours (my only work for this week) and then I'm going round my parents for a bit. My mum is also thinking about doing the 5:2 diet!January 2016:

Really pleased you enoyed your hols WW.:)
LL- Bum bags - ugh I wear one of these  I hasten to add it's only very occasionally when I'm walking the dog and have no pockets for treats, water etc. Imuch prefer combat/cargo pants or proper walking trousers but sometimes need must and the bumbag comes out.
Am still suffering with congestion from the cold so picked up some decongestants yesterday - am not really into taking loads of tablets but have felt like I was really struggling to breathe a couple of times- have had wheezing (very like an asthma attack ) so decided to try em.
Am still toying with the business ideas! " I can do it" got to keep telling myself this!
I finally decided to weigh myself this morning after 2 weeks on the 5:2 diet and I've lost 4llbs :j. Am really pleased, when I've tried anything else it's been a pound or two off 1 week and then it's been back on the week after. Have also been looking for a yoga class. Am quite annoyed actually because it has highlighted to me how much the adult ed sector has been cut in my area. Only a few years ago there were numerous schools and adult ed places that had courses in various activities but I can only find one place now. Even the place I did my computer course has only 2/3 courses on offer (all computing). So as I have limited funds it's looking like I might struggle to find anywhere.:(I thought councils and the government etc were supposed to support people in trying to be healthy. They just seem to be shutting more and more facilities in my area every day. (rant over
)
Right must get off for my walk with doggy before it gets too hot and muggy. Have a good day all.Frump to Fab - Solstice Sizzler

I had my hair cut on Friday afternoon, ready for the holiday this Friday. My tan is doing quite well considering I havent been away yet!.
I am now 9st 8lb which I think is about right for my height at 5ft 5ish.
Where did the inch go? Oh well.
I have been rather stressed chasing funding for the last 2 plus months so I have put the fabbing on the back burner more often then I should have. But I hope that the holiday will help me, and when i get back I will try and remember all the things I know, and use all of the products that I have!
Sorry I cannot keep up with everyone, life is just a bit too hectic at the moment.
Today is a bity day with paperwork, housework and some sorting for packing to do. Dont have much space in the bags for smellies etc, so it will be as basic a cosmetic bag as I can.
As I dont tend to wear makeup, I have decided that all I will take with me, is a lippy!. Be brave as usually on holiday its the only time that i do take makeup. But I will take a moisturiser! and sun creams of course. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
WW - I looked at BB creams around 6months ago and found all the ones in the shops ridiculously orange for my slightly yellow-toned skin! There seem to be more on the market now, as more brands have released some but if you struggle there's a thread somewhere on the beauty boards on BB creams. A few people on there recommended getting an Asian one as they've been using BB creams in Japan etc for years and years, and they're quite pale as a nation so the creams are less orange than the ones here.
I ordered one off an eBay seller in recommended on that thread - brand Holika Holika. The colour was better than the ones here and delivered in just over a week from Hong Kong I think for less than £6. There's loads of swatches if different BB creams on blogs online if you Google. I still find I have to mix 40:60 BB cream and moisturiser though.0 -

I don't take much makeup on holiday, usually lipgloss, eyeliner and highlighter - I find highlighters a brilliant multitasking product that brings out a tan - you can put them on your brows, cheekbones and anywhere you want some definition/glow, eg smudge onto eyelids.
The Benefit High Beam cream one is nice but expensive (I'm still using my mini one that I had free with Glamour magazine last summer!), or you can get stick ones - I had a Miners one that was ok but I seem to have lost it (probably in my drawers somewhere, I must do some decluttering!)
ps well don't on the weight poss Mooloo and lizzie and Madrabbit and anyone else I've missed!0 -
Morning all,
Well done all those with weight losses :T
Been a bit up and down the last few days. I went for a chat with a guy who owns a photo studio on Sunday and is looking for more photographers for it. Hours/moneywise it would be ideal for me but he is looking for someone to mainly focus on family portraits. That's never something I've really got into - I know it's something that many people think should be easy but tbh it's so much more about your personality and the way you interact with the family then your actual photography skill. You need to be very confident, quite assertive, good with kids, able to think of lots of things on the spot etc. and I'm just not sure if it's really me. But then my current job is driving me crazy at the moment and if I could get some decent hours there I could at least cut my hours down here. So I'm a little torn. He's wanting me to go back for a test session anyway, 15mins with a client at the end of their 'proper' shoot - so not very long at all really to get people feeling comfortable with you and get some decent shots out of them
Also bit worried as my mum's not very well at the moment. She's been struggling to breath for about a week now - has been up to the hospital about 4 times now, including being kept in on Sunday night, but they just keep running the same tests on her, which bring up nothing and then send her home as they seem to have no idea what's wrong with her! Very frustrating for her as obviously there's something wrong. They're saying now that it might be something with her heart so are going to look at doing one of those things were they connect you up with sensors for about 24hrs - but there's going to be at least a 2 week wait for an appointment so what they expect her to do in the meantime is beyond me  Baffles me how incompetence they seem to be!
Anyway, sorry has been a bit of a moany post. Hope everyone else is well x0 -
Sorry to hear about your mum pod. At least they've come up with a plan as the other tests proved inconclusive. Will she keep pushing them to get a result? It's difficult to be assertive when you're not feeling 100%.
With the photographer, why not try a test and see how it goes with the families.
ww, what I like about having a tanned face is that I don't need to worry about foundation. In the winter I look so pale and washed out but I'm terrified of looking like I've got a mask on. Like faithless I love Benefit High Beam highlighter. My summer 'going out' make up is bronzing powder (Benefit One Hot Minute), highlighter on my cheek bones, mascara, lippy and eyebrow pencil. It looks natural but as if I've made a bit of an effort. For just shopping or something it's lippy, mascara and somethimes eyebrow pencil. I just can't manage without mascara. People are always telling me I look tired without it (although they don't realise why). I think it really defines my eyes.
Thanks for dropping in mooloo, it's great to hear from you. I do hope you're going to get a bit of relxing 'me' time on your holiday. Is that going to be possible? How many of you are going?
Great news about the weightloss everyone (including your 'return to normal' ww;)).
On yesterday's shoe discussion: I don't wear flip flops because I can't get on with toe posts at all. For holidays I tend to wear Birkenstocks. As my beach holidays are in a hilly place they're fine for evening too (black patent ones) or I wear ballet pumps with a small heel. I don't like the flat ones as they make me feel I'm tipping backwards but some of the ones with small heels are really frumpy. Dune have a nice choice but pricey so I tend to look out for them in TKMaxx or M&S isn't too bad. What I want is a pair of supportive, comfortable walking shoes that look OK for wearing on a winter city break when I'm sightseeing. I have some Sketchers and they've been brilliant but they're getting old now and I've not really seen anything to replace them. Any ideas?0 -
Pod - you must be worried to death about your mum - its the not knowing thats the hardest part I think. I think you should have a go at the shoot, what have you got to lose? If you can do wedding photos (under the stress of the day) I'm sure you can do good portrait work - which may end up being a stop gap but you're not happy now so it may be worth a go?
Well done to all the skinny minnies! This fasting lask seems to suit some of you, you're all braver and stronger willed than me!
Well, I went to Boots and talked to the lady on the make up counter who turned out to be a gem. I was looking at the No 7 BB creams and she quietly took me over to the No 17 versions and said that they were just as good and half the price - as I'm darker skinned and tanned at the moment we found a perfect colour (medium dark) that doesn't look like I've got any on but does give quite good coverage - all for £5.99! Have just done it properly at home and am very pleased with the look.:T
Also did the usual toiletry buying, hair dye, shampoo and conditioner and body lotion etc. For anyone that's interested all Dove products are better than half price at Superdrug. Got the Euros changed back into real money and will stash away to go with the work clothes money to go on a proper clothes shop next week. Also nipped to Holland and Barratt for some snacks in the Penny Sale - got loads for about £3. So all in all a good little moneysaving trip out.:)0 -
LL- Bum bags - ugh I wear one of these  I hasten to add it's only very occasionally when I'm walking the dog and have no pockets for treats, water etc. Imuch prefer combat/cargo pants or proper walking trousers but sometimes need must and the bumbag comes out.
.
:rotfl: I walked the dog in leggings and wrap dress the other night, no pockets so shoved the "poo" bags aka nappy sacks in my bra :rotfl::rotfl:
Pod sorry to hear about your mum, fingers crossed she is sorted soon xxx
WW it's not really strong will I've found but actually have realised a little bit of hunger isn't anything to be afraid ofI haven't chewed my own arm and so far I've not really had the urge to keep stuffing my face once my fast is broken. Very odd can't explain it
Well done to everyone on their WL :T
I am off to North Devon for a week tomorrow, will try and keep up to date via my phone.
Hugs and spoons all round xxxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks
