A very British affair with the Arctic Monkeys and Dizzy Rascal - contemporary and not some old stuffy blokes in suits. Loved it! Not sure what some of the rest of the world will think though - will they get it?:rotfl:
Me too - feeling a bit sluggish today. Stayed up far too late. Worth it though.
Maybe time to pension off Macca??? Bless him but it was supposed to be about inspiring the next generation. Maybe they should have stopped at the fireworks. As usual they were wonderful.
I do love a good pyrotechnic display:rotfl::rotfl: I might have to light the chimenea tonight.Thought the forging of the rings bit was inspired - brought quite a tear.
Kitchen taking shape nicely, amazing what a few new doors and a new worktop can achieve. Bought some nice new ritzy lights so DS2 has just painted the ceiling before they go up.
I reckon the whole lot - including paint, lights and some nice new accessories will come in under £700, so feeling pretty pleased with that. I really must try and learn how to post photos when it's all done.
I'm looking a bit scruffy today but then you can't wear your best bib and tucker when your house resembles a building site. Will do some more weeding today - even the jungle is started to look a bit more tamed.
Then later this evening some "me" fabbing.
Have a great day.0 -
Morning all, i stayed up late to watch the olympic cermony, well kept dozing off through it . Went on a 4 mile walk along coast last night, i need to up the exercise to get rid of my belly i gained, jeans are too tight
Might go for a cycle later after i scrubbed kitchen clean & mopped that'll burn a few calories!
Dont get paid till tuesday so need to stay away from shops! Eh xx0 -
Just back from the couch to 5K week 4 run and it is much tougher - 3 mins run, 90 secs walk, 5 min run repeat, repeat.......
You feel like you're just getting your breath back and you have to start again. I managed it though and even tagged on a few extra mins run after a litte walk at the end:j (won't be doing many of these star jumps today now!!)
I did have a little treat or two last night to celebrate the Olympics - a small packet of Tooty Frooties and a Dime bar. I did loads of exercise yesterday though so hopefully it won't matter.
After a shower and some lunch and a little watch of the sport I'll take the dog out for his second walk (the longer one) - I'm thinking an hour or so up the canal towpath for a change.0 -
ww wow you're getting in loads of exercise well done
fedupandskint most definitely a well deserved day off! I have been doing Banish Fat Boost Metabolism followed by either Shred or 6-week Six Pack and it kiiiiillls me!
mooloo sounds like you looked really nice and very positive
Just checking in and saying hello all! I did quite like the Opening Ceremony but I didn't watch it all, have watched boxing and mens gymnastics this morning though- my favourites
I've ordered new extensions and dye to spruce my hair up, also doing better with food. That combined with a week at home I am feeling much more positive, but things are not going great with OH. I'm try to reduce the amount of stuff I have in the flat in case worse comes to worst in the coming months. I've listed loads more stuff on ebay and started packing my less used possessions into boxes that I will post to my parents.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Good job its a day off today as I am very tired and my arms are too. Arranged to go biking tomorrow and feel very tired right now, hoping an early night and hearty tea make me feel better. Also need to make some flapjacks to take too.
Nice day with mum who treated me to a new jacket in the sale from M+S which was reduced to £15. Slightly strange when the new season colours where full price and really the colour is not too seasonal in purple either. Its my first ever size 10 jacket too which showed me how far I have come over the last year when size 14 ones were the usual fit. Also a lovely navy top for £9 which will look lovely with white jeans, dark jeans or smart trousers too.

Morning all,
Forcing myself to go cycling this morning, didnt happen yesterday, theres a few off road areas so going out for a potter & see how far i get. I find getting out is the hardest bit! And its nicer than gym where i'll get bored!
Then its home to the massive pile of ironing!

Morning all!
Woke myself up sneezing so am just waiting for the antihistamines to kick in before I take the dog out.
Going to have a fairly quiet day today pottering around the house and doing some more schoolwork. A bit of house fabbing in the form of hoovering and dusting is in order and a trip to Mr S to get the food shopping done. I'm trying to economise a bit before the hols so will try to stick to about £20 for the shopping but I do need laundry and cleaning bits and dog food so the actual food shopping will have to be very frugal - just need some fresh bits and pieces so will try to buy just what I actually need rather than what I fancy. Fingers crossed.
I'm going to get some special needs lessons planned today too - I'm hoping to get at least the first few weeks worth out of the way.
On the exercise front, no running or swimming today (giving the legs a bit of a rest) but I will do a quick 20 mins Shred (feels like ages since I've done this) and some leisurely dog walking.
Right, I'm off to kill two birds with one stone and take the dog to teh park and pop to Mr S on the way back - hope everyone has a good day.0 -
I wrote a post but it vanished!
Well a 15mile cycle ride done! Crazy yes! Last year i managed a 55mile charity bike ride so got no excuses really! Only rained at start, now sunshine so chill in garden with book or knitting..ironing can wait!

Well done EH! I must have the wrong shaped bum for bikes - mine always kills me for days after I've been on one, even one the stationary ones at the gym!
Have finally dyed my hair - no more skunk look! Whilst I was at it I did a full defuzz, face scrub and a good scrub in the shower. Feel superclean! House cleaned, shopping done and dog taken to the park too.
Will take the dog out for 30mins in a little while and then force myself to do some schoolwork, although what I really fancy doing is sitting down watching a film.:o
I may well do that, even though I'm on hols I've been really busy lately and feel like having a day off.0 -
A good day out today with a 3 and a half hour mountain bike ride in the peaks. Very good and I improved too being braver on the downhill sections rather than being scared silly like usual. Could feel the improvement from the after work cycle rides and shred as stomach muscles were stronger and legs more powerful.
Just have the bike to clean then dog walk then an evening watching the Olmpics after got all work stuff ready later for tomorrow.
A very pleasant weekend indeed here. Have meal planned for next week, exercise planned and next thing will be planning my housework as I aim to do one room per night and not leave it for next weekend!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550
