  • Looks like you could be right :( There is no sign of the cashback on my March statement which has just been issued. :(:(

I got my March statement online yesterday and I DO have the shares/cashback added.

I haven't used the card for a week or so now so shouldn't have an April statement, so in effect I will be in credit due to the cashback, can I just ask them to send it to me or do I have to use the card to use it up?
I've got the hump with them now and don't want to use their card again if I can help it TBH :p

I would suspect (based on other cards) you wouldn't get the cash - you just need to spend EXACTLY that amount on something!!!!

Maybe your end of year is March so thats why you got shares. Was it at 80p or £1 per share?

I have the shares added (ie showing as total shares so far) but they have not yet been turned into cashback and credited to my account. I am hoping that they will be turned into cashback before the payment is due so the DD will take the balance and leave me with 0.00 on the card. Otherwise my April statement will show a net credit which is not good news if you are an MBNA customer.

yeah, thats what I meant, it hasn't been turned into cash yet so don't know what its worth. not much though, only about a tenner at the most. what happens if the balance is in credit? why is it bad news

MBNA charge customers who leave a credit on their card (although I think it is after 12 months). Do a search in this forum. It has come up a couple of times recently.

I'm gutted. I quite often used to rack up between £150-£200 in cashback using this card as I too was finding the Plat. Amex card hard to use in shops etc.

What's the alternative? An Egg card?

I'm gutted too as this has been very beneficial for me. If I find another I'll post on site.

I suddenly realised that my Conran card expired yesterday! I called MBNA to ask why a replacement card had not been sent out and they said that as the end of the relationship with Conran had ended, the re-issue of the card had been declined! The card is actually in my OH's name and I am an additional cardholder. They said she would have to call them to get it sorted. Has anyone else had anything like this happen? We have had the card for about 2 years and have always paid off the bill in full and on time.

I had to get a replacement Conran card as I had apparently been a victim of credit card fraud (this is odd as the card has been locked in a drawer for 6 months!).

The replacement card arrived today, and is now a 'MBNA beyond' card.

Bizarrely all the documentation was still Conran branded.
