Morning everyone (just). I hope alla re well. Lovely sunny day here in Cornwall, am hoping it will last a while. The swans on the boating lake over the road have decided its time to nest again, so everyone is waiting for the first egg to be laid. They had 5 cygnets last year, so hoping for more this year.
Am doing HM shepherds pie for our tea tonight. Have got a whole fresh chicken for tomorrow - any ideas on a slow cooker recipie?
Not much else going on though, a nice slow lazy day ahead. mmmmmmmm
    Will pop back later

  • I despair. I have spoken to DH and when I asked how his Dad was he said he didn't know - it seems nobody has thought to ring up the hospital and see how a 77 y.o man on oxygen and IV drips has got on during the night. MIL is however hunting around the house for FIL's "medals" (bits of the Turin Shroud and that sort of thing). Apparently DH's brother has also said after visiting tonight they can go for a drink as it's St Patrick's!!! Talk about being concerned about somebody's health  I'm glad I'm down here as I wouldn't be able to bite my tongue (although being well brought up I would manage it and seeth inwardly :D ).
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

    Afternoon all,

Gosh it's quiet on here today!!! I have spent the morning putting together all my slides for my presentation on Tuesday, will need to write my script and jiggle them around but will leave that now until Monday after my essay has been handed in. The essay I have done some research for, and done a basic plan/structure, so need to do a more detailed plan and source some good quotes, before actually writing it. Also need to read this weeks novel which is "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe - it's only a short one so will do that on my way to/from work today and in any other spare gaps I get.

I've got a busy weekend ahead, I have work 8-12 tomorrow and 1-5 on sunday ( the first sunday i'm rota'd in months is mothers' day  ) and I have the above essay to write and book to read, as well as test-driving the new car tomorrow afternoon, PLUS my mum is coming over with my youngest sister for a few hours

Just off to have a quick whip-round the flat to tidy it - it's not too bad in terms of cleanliness, just a bit messy!! Shouldn't take too long though. My windows are sparkling because the people who manage the flats have washed them all today... Shame the weather's going to change and mucky them all up

Sounds like a lot of people are having trouble with families at the minute :grouphug: to all of you. Snowy and Pinkwinged and AussieLass - I hope you all have fun today!!!!!

Sorry for rambling so much, but I find it helps me to actually do my uni work if I post on here what I need to do!!

    Love, Roz xxx

ps. Does anybody know at what stage the passport agency take payment? I sent my passport for renewal last week and payment was taken from my card yesterday so does that mean it's nearly on its way back? I hope so - only 2 and a half weeks until I go to Spain!!!!!

Bigs hugs pam - I know exactly how you feel (11 years in October) - I still think when I see things "oh I must tell Mum tonight about that" then realise that I can't. Still, just because you can't see her doesn't mean she can't see you - so put down that cream cake right now :D x

    Good Afternoon All

(((hugs))) mrs mix I was (more or less) brought up by my grandparents, I spent most of my time as a child with them. And even as an adult. My Nanna died nearly 2yrs ago. As Ive mentioned before. Im the only one in the family who pays respects and visits the crem! I will be going on Sunday, to replace the flowers I put down last week for her. My mum wont be going (nanna's daughter) she said she will leave it to me!!!!

Thank heaven Ive finished work.Ive been ready this week!

I had a pat on the back from a Manager in another department this morning. Apparently I took a call from a "mystery shopper" (which obviously we dont know who they are) and this shopper rated me as 94% which apparently, is the best score they've ever had! I know the mystery shoppers have a job to do, but its also nice to know the feedback, rating our services! I asked where the other 6% was, and it was becuase the "shopper" couldnt get in touch with the relevant department at the time of the call, and she was passed through to me to help her. So the 6% went against the other dept & not me!

Right, off to sort out more washing. My EX will be fetching kids from school today, and they wont get home unitl 8.30pm. OH finishes work at 4pm, so I dont know what we'll be doing just yet!

    Take care for now
    Love Emma xxx
