    Morning everyone :hello:

Penny-Pincher, glad to hear you and OH feeling better. ((hugs)) to SmokeyBabe, Rage in Eden and everyone else who needs one today. And LOL @ MATH  - don't spend too much money!

Not much going on here. DS1 still spotty and grumpy, he was awake in the night too, soaked with sweat :( DS2 still full of the joys of spring. DH working this weekend and no idea how I'll entertain them as we can't go anywhere where there are other people! I guess we'll have to go for a walk in the woods and keep our germs to ourselves. Going to earn my halo by visiting MIL on Mothers' Day and not getting any lie-in or pressies myself.

DS1 says he wants to cook chocolate cake today so might do that this morning. Will get WM going while it's so lovely and sunny - apparently snow forecast for next week

    Morning all:j

Another beautiful sunny day, and I plan to enjoy it while it lasts! Quick swish round the house, what my mum used to call doing a top-show Kate! (only cleaning, tidying the bits on show to visitors:rotfl: ) Then it's out into the garden, which although tiny is in such a mess it's taking ages to get back.

Later on I will have visitors, my lovely SIL and neice and great-neice, but they don't care about tidy houses:D :D

Other than that, nothing much happening here.

twink thanks for the update on kyle, give her a hug from me.

    Off now, enjoy your days,

    CMxx

And, just to make me super happy - my daddy is going to help with my mortgage!!!! All is not lost!!!

Hope SSB and Moggins had similar successes yesterday!!!

Happy red nose day (sat at w*rk in jeans and a brightly coloured shirt!)

Love and big bear hugs to those who need them,

Morning everyone! It's Fridayyyyyy! Woooohhoooo! I am so happy that it's nearly the weekend.

I can't wait to get house sorted and do some tidying etc tomorrow morning. I hate feeling in a muddle at home. We are having stuffed marrow for dinner tonight that I bought at the farm shop. Do you think I just stuff it with a bolognase type mince? Tomorrow morning I am also making a Rick Stein recipe of hazelnut meringue thing and a banoffee pie for Mothers' day lunch at MIL's house. Not good for my diet

I hope everyone has a good Friday and is looking forward to the weekend, hugs and warm wishes to all in need of them. xxx

Edited to add: Well done Paulie'sGirl!!

    Morning everyone

Haven't been around much over past month as we have been having a lot of building work done. I have spent the last month making endless cups of tea and replacing broken mugs that the builders have managed to break or lose.
We are now the proud owners of a consevatory:j and a downstairs loo:p . During the past month my car has been broken into and so much damage caused that it was written off. We had already made the decision to change the car later this year as I am coming into an unexpected windfall, but it happened sooner than we would have liked! I've jsut got another car and we've borrowed £2,000 from the 'house' fund to pay for it till my money comes thru. The builders van was also pinched from outside my house, in broad day-light, with everyone about! Thankfully it was found untouched.

It's been DS 7th birthday and we took him for a chinese buffet, only for him to become ill several hours later. There has been a bug going round the school so don't know if it was that or food poisioning he had. It's been my nans 83rd birthday and she let my son light the candles:eek: and then when he burnt himself said that's why you shouldn't mess with fire 'not even if big boys tell you to'....no mention of great grandmothers telling you to:rolleyes: . DS had a joint party with his twin cousins for his birthday last night but also hurt his finger there playing air hockey and refused to blow his candles out on his cake and DH forgot to pay my sister for our share of the party, so also getting stressed about all this.

The bullying of DS seems to have stopped. After going thru the correct channels of going to teacher, head etc and nothing changing. DS resorted to the oldstyle way of threatening to ***** the other child , and since then nothing. Unfortuantely the bully hasn't learned a lesson, he's just moved on to someone else!

Don't really know what's been going on on site, cos haven't been able to keep up to date, just know that Ticklemouse and Moggins need hugs ((())), and hope TM finds a buyer for her house and Moggins finds a job soon.

Need to get back to flylady soon, but for the first time in weeks I'm enjoying the peace and quiet and having some lazy time to myself. Have a good w/end everyone

    Good morning everyone,

Came on here this morning, and it was all down!!! Glad its back up.

Have 3 LOs here at the mo - we will be making mothers day cards in a minute, and we are also going to do our hair re red nose day. I dont have any red spray (bad childminder) but do have green and sparkly - mind you, i dont think 2 4 year olds and a 3 year old will mind its not being red!!!

My 2 went off to school happily today - DD in her PJs, slippers and dressing gown and i french plated her hair last night after her shower, so its all curly this morning, so shes a very happy bunny. DS has mousse and green spray in his hair, and went in normal clothes, i guess boys dont go out in public in their PJs!!!

Right, ((HUGS)) to anyone who needs/wants one - and well done to Paulies girl re your interview.

    Have a lovely day,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Morning all
A beautiful day here, I have the bedding blowing merrily in the wind and the dust is sparkling on the windows. I almost went to clean them but thought better of it, if we get the promised bad weather they will be filthy again so I'll wait a bit.
We went to the market in the next town yesterday, haven't been for ages, and got lovely local grown veg and some plants which I need to pot up today. I also called at Home Bargains and got Slimfast smoothies 4 for a pound. I have these for breakfast and they are about £1.18 at Boots.
I wish we had a large Boots nearby, they don't have many offers at our little one.
Please make sure that you use the sun protection, I have just been diagnosed with a Basal Cell Carcinoma which I am assured is the least serious but I am always careful to use sun cream and I still got it. The Dr says it is because of my age ( they always say that don't they?) and the fact that they didn't have sun protection when I was young. Anyhow I have SPF50 now and am waiting to have the offending mole removed.
I should go and hang out the next lot of washing, but I will have my caffeine first. I have some gorgeous soup for lunch which I made from 2 dead parsnips, a bunch of celery and some broccoli stalks and a sprouting onion.
    Hugs to all in need.
    Have a great weekend.

    Morning :hello:

    Sooooo glad it's Friday.

Not much to report this morning. Off to review another opera this evening (I'm not mad keen on writing opera criticism on demand, but am apparently good at it and it keeps me supplied with free tickets! LOL!) Might end up running into some old friends at this evening's show, as I vaguely know the leading lady (I have sung with her in the past) and she is a good friend of an ex-flatmate of mine who I haven't seen for ages, who is likely to be there. Also, one of the other singers is somebody I knew at university, and again, haven't seen him for years.

I'm afraid I haven't been paying a lot of attention to people's news over the last couple of days - it sounds like there are lots of you having problems with your kids though. ((((Hugs)))) to all. And well done Paulie's Girl - your dad sounds fab :T :T - I think my dad would do the same for me if I was in your situation.

Need to send my mum her Mother's Day card - was annoyed to realise that the card I have bought falls into the "large letter" category and therefore the only place that sells the right stamps is the Post Office   - Need to make sure I send it to the right place as she's visiting my dad for the next couple of weeks (while she job-hunts - she is planning to sell up her big "empty nest" in Durham and move to a little house in the Reading area where she could earn much better money and be within easier reach of family).

That made me laugh in a   sort of way! It reminded me of the time our former priest thought it would be a good idea to hand a lit candle to an eight month old baby during baptism (our organist's daughter!) There was a minor mishap (as the congregation and choir looked on in horror!) but fortunately no lasting harm done :o

    Hope you're all well

    Good Morning all!!

Another beautiful day here, I popped my seedlings outside to enjoy the warmth whilst it's here, certainly won't be for much longer. Work today as always but will finish at 3 as DH is biking the Ridgeway with a friend, then they're off out for a leaving do. DS has a friend coming to tea today, HM burgers and chips methinks, I might carry on with painting the fence too as I really want it finished.

Will curl up tonight with a glass of wine and Memoirs of a Geisha as DH is out and then an early night ready for the usual Saturday ballet, shopping and housework rush plus a St Patricks Day party for the evening and I have nothing to wear!!!

Am off to look up some recipes for Beef Wellington which DH has "suggested" for Mothers Day (hang on shouldn't he be cooking it as I'm the mother?!!). Will do broccoli and stilton soup to start with and chocolate pots to finish.
Did anyone watch the final of Masterchef last night, I thought they all deserved to win bless 'em, they seemed so gutted.

Right Beef Wellington here I come!!

Enjoy your day all and hugs to all in need.
