Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Friday 16th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning all, I hope today finds you well.

Oh joy, my 7 yr old decided that he could not sleep last night and came down at 12.20 am and woke everyone up with the tv on and playing a computer game at full volume. I guess he thought that he could sneak more than his allowed time this way not realising that we all aren't deaf. To be fair last night when he got home he was very distressed but not overly clear why. Lots of little reasons were given, I don't know whether it's because he is not sleeping so well at the mo ( says our ghost is back ) and is tired or if there is another reason?
Pass, one to keep an eye on I think. I am not so sure if he isn't wrong about the ghost either.

Anyway, the 'grill up' last night was lovely and the black pudding one of the nicest I have ever tasted. If he has more in the market next week I think I will buy and freeze as we have never seen them there before.

Today, the usual potter after work, and maybe a can or two tonight - no work tomorrow after all!:D

2cr8tx5.jpgTo all in need today.

See you later,

Smoky. xxxx

Morning smokybabe and all who follow.
At work already, coffee by my side, but only until 11 am, then off for a mooch around town, and of course a short trip to Boots!
Hopefully BHS have the jeans in from another store, the pair I bought last week which fitted fine, had the fastening stud missing  they had no more my size (story of my life) so at least ordered me a pair from another store.
We're fetching DS back from uni tomorrow pm so chaos will reign once more. Strange that whilst you love having them back, you get used to them not being physically there.:o He's promising(threatening) to cook my dinner on Sunday, so only to agree a menu now. :rotfl: :rotfl:
((((hugs)))) to all and congratulations to those with celebrations.
    Take care.

Oh for sure Amie, I've been getting the suncare for 2 for 1 -£5 voucher =£2.50 with a free wrap, and with my frequent trips to Spain, go through a lot so very useful. then course I then get £2 off my Sanctuary buy with free buy from the voucher in the wrap, and get a £5 voucher and go off round again.

BTW I'll share a laugh with you, the other day when you told us about the Shamu thread, I click on it, and watched "it" swimming around, thinking that looks more animated than real, and it always appeared in the same spot and moved the same way, then scrolled down with my mouse, as on my pc the bottom line showing options of viewing the webcam was hidden until I scrolled down :rotfl: :rotfl: for someone who is usually a wizz on these thing, had to laugh at myself!

Morning everyone! I'm having a *piece of quiet* and a cup of tea. The small penguins have an Inset day, so we're off to Sheffield. DD needs new school shoes, and wants to take a look in John Lewis for what's available for her wedding usher outfit. I'm planning to make waistcoats for DH and DS in shot silk in a co-ordinating colour, so need to think about that, too. Oooh, and a new outfit for me :D;)

We have a light frost, but it's bright and sunny. Got lots of veg planted in pots yesterday. I want to start off some flowers, too, so an hour later in the polytunnel may be on the cards.

Right, off to the Greenfingered board, to see what's going on in others' gardens.

Have a Fab Friday, Penny. x

  • Morning everyone, I haven't posted on the daily thread for a while. I hope everyone is ok, hugs to those of you that are in need of one.

Have had a couple of busy weeks at work. We have a new person starting on tuesday and another at the beginning of April, so I'm having to sort out inductions and training and what work they will be doing. Plus we're currently 1 person down in the team (hence the new starters) so we're already having to work a little harder.

Have been having a major declutter at home. I have so much stuff that I haven't used in the 3 years since I moved in with the BF that I decided it was time to get rid. I've freecycled a load of it, some of it is listed on Amazon, some more on another forum I post on, and what's left I might try my hand at ebay with. The BF now thinks that if he's not careful one day the doorbell is going to ring and I'm going to freecycle him !!

Anyway, time to go to work. Have a good day everyone
