I applied few weeks ago and I have already sent proof of identy (copy of the passport certified by a post office) and proof of address (bank statement printed from internet and stamped by a bank branch, and broadband bill).
I already received my documents back.
Now I have received a new letter stating the the documents I sent cannot be accepted and that I should send new ones.
In the letter there is a list of "certifiers" for copies that does not include post office. That looks really strange.
Did it happened to any of you? I tried to call the call center at 0845 601 0436 but they don't answer0 -
It's probably your proof of identity that they have rejected - you need to get it signed by someone of recognised authority, such as a solicitor.
Also, for your address, I'd send a utility bill (gas, electric) rather than a broadband bill.0 -

Well, that's probably why your documents have been rejected then !!!
How about following the instructions :-)
What do you need to ask them?
It's pretty clear isn't it? they don't accept the post office certification.0 -
I do not recall sending copies of passport or driving licence.
In the past companies have rejected printouts from online statements.
I think they would want originals of utility bill (gas, elec, telephone), Council Tax demand, recent bank statement or something similar.
Have a look at the list that came with the application form and comply with it.
BTW. their freephone number is 0800 58757700 -
For many things it's simply easier just to send originals.
Obviouly you would not want to do this with passport or driving licence, but it's not the end fo the world if you lost a phone bill or even DWP paperwork.0 -

Valuable lesson leant with a nasty stain on my squeaky clean file to prove it.
Bye Aquacard.
Its so easily done with that card. I did it too. I could have sworn I'd paid my council tax with the card, but I looked at the statement online and it wasn't there so I thought I'd imagined paying it. So I paid it again! Guess what the payment appeared quite a few days later so two payments, £30 overlimit and a £12 fee plus cashback wiped out. This card now useless for a year. Some you win some you lose its a cruel world.
Be careful out there!0 -

The balance changes very quickly so its a pity the transactions can not be viewed and shown until much later .........do others also find this annoying !!
They can't show the transaction until its completed, where they can show the authorisation amounts taken.
I know what I've spent, so no, I don't find it annoying.0
