Yes thats why I ask, I'm sure i remember seeing in the T&Cs that you can't pre-load. So if you do pre-load I assumed that would be breaking the T&Cs and therefore you forfeit the cashback.

I probably wont risk it anyway, just in case!

I have always rounded up my payments to all my credit cards and so far never had a problem. Sometimes when I have returned goods this puts me quite a lot in credit !! Still always got my cashback when the times comes !

Just got my new Aqua card in time for going to France tomorrow.
    Phoned to activate it and
    1. got through to a person, not a machine, and
    2. incredibly, she didn't try to sell me anything!!!!!!!!! (and was helpful and friendly)
So I'm well pleased, and looking forward to getting cashback.
(I haven't had a load-free card for spending abroad since I cancelled my Santander Zero card when I was furious with Santander for freezing my accounts for no reason.)

Does anyone know when the statements/bills are issued?

I see in my online account, they will want the payment by the 1st of the month at the latest, but how long before this do they send me a statement/bill?
    Anyone?

I've still not got my statement, so it'll be 15th at the earliest before I get it and they want payment by the first. They don't give you long to pay do they? Especially if some payments can take 3 or 4 working days to clear with them.

I get my statement near the end of the month, dated the 25th, and payment due is by the 12th.

I get paid near the end of the month, so the balance is cleared then (well, all apart from £5 or less, which is collected by DD). Usually about 10 - 12 days before the due date.

Never depend on paper statements, if they don't arrive, you still need to make a payment by the due date.

if you phone them you get through to an automated line. This will tell you when your next statement is due. If your statement has already been produced it will tell you what the balance is on it.

Thanks, I've just checked my online account today and see that they have produced a bill now. It wasn't there when I checked yesterday just before posting.

But I also notice the cheeky blighters have also pulled forward the payment due date to the 29th
That's not what it said yesterday, and not what I agreed when I called them to activate the card.

Ah well. I think they are hoping to scupper my chances already of securing that £100 at the end of the year. They'll have to try harder than that though!

Another interesting point is that although I've made a partial payment (well in excess of the minimium payment) before the creation of the bill (it appears as a credit on the bill), they still want at least the minimum payment again.
Not that important to me as I will be paying off the full balance - but something to note by those who may not be in a positon to pay off the whole balance.

Any payment before the statement is generated does not count - the minimum payment is on the statement balance. Hence, the minimum payment would be reduced if you had already made a part-payment compared not having made a part-payment in at all.
  • I'm thinking of using the Aqua reward card to load an Asda Christmas saving card (To get the £6 bonus in November) This should work proving Asda transact as a purchase and not cash. I phoned Aqua who didn't know, but told me to contact Asda. I shot an email to Asda and am awaiting their response. Was just wondering if anyone has tried this yet.

Since payments made to that card are apparently itemised on your bill (makes sense, and easier for them to process), it will be a single transaction and thus marked as a purchase.

Now, if you put £144 on a the card in one go from the customer services desk, I'm not sure how it would work.

So best thing is to buy it with your shopping, as then it'll be itemised on your shopping receipt.
