I applied nearly three weeks ago now, and was accpeted striaght away online with a £1600 limit. Also got a card for my hubby too. I have no debt, never have and have a number of cards, so not sure why they would want to take me on! Savvy, love it!0

No, I don't think so.
It seemed to take over a week and there were no bank hols recently.
I am monitoring it now to make sure.
I made a debit card payment (from their web site) 2 days ago and it is cleared today. I was a little worried after reading the comments and phoned them. I was told debit card payment should clear within three days or even quicker. I guess they might have improved.Mark Hughes' blue and white army0 -

Where's the fun in that?0 -
Paid paid paid PAID!!!
Why have I seen "payed" so many times on this forum lately??
[:rotfl:]
People shouldn't need a spell checker to spell 'paid'. This is just one of many shocking spelling and English language errors I'm seeing - not just on these forums, but in UK media everywhere. Standards are slipping folks! No doubt we are about to see record passes in the exam results for this summer...0 -
Does anyone know, does paying off utility bills count as making a purchase? That would really help me get towards the £3andabitk as I'm not a massive spender.
Yes it does. You could even read your meter on the high side to pay more off if you wanted. Some people have done this when gas prices were rising... to get longer at the cheaper price but although energy companies might not like it, I don't think it is wrong to do.
But as other posters have said there is no point at all in going mad on this card or even paying the balance off before the statement date... because you won't get the cashback for a year. Best to spend small amounts and take all year doing it.0 -
To change the subject, I have a problem with aqua Secure.
Whether I use Firefox 14.0.1 (my default browser) or IE 8, I get an error message when I click on the aqua Secure link on the transaction page after I have logged in, and then on one of two further links named 'Please click here to enrol for aqua Secure / manage your aqua Secure account'. Using Firefox 14, there is a pink box headed 'No title defined on popup link' which has been inserted before the words 'aqua Secure. Using IE, that's not there.
The error message takes the form of a whole page with large black lettering, starting with 'You cannot access this page' and then stating 'This may be due to one of two reasons: 1. the F1 you are trying to access is deactivated; and 2. the access to F1 is restricted for specific IP addresses, and your address is not one of them'.
I did notice that in the FAQs under aqua Secure it did say that you needed (in the case of Firefox- versions 1, 2 or 3, so I thought that was somewhat outdated and may be significant.
I tried to ensure that popups were allowed as exceptions in my Firefox URL list of websites blocked for pop ups, but I couldn't be sure exactly what URL to use.
I did notice that when I made a couple of online purchases that a MasterCard Secure window popped up fleetingly, but I wasn't asked to enter my password details and the transaction went through all right.
I have not spoken to Customer Services yet, but will do so depending on what response I may have to this post.
Does anyone share this experience, or can explain it? Thanks for reading this lengthy posting. :eek:0 -
How long have people been waiting to receive their card and PIN once they have sent the paperwork back? I sent mine back last week. It would be useful to know what the credit limit is because I am planning to take it on holiday and if the limit is very low I want to get new PINS/reminders from my existing cards so I can take one of them. I think the Halifax Clarity and Santander Zero can both be used overseas for purchases without additional charges and I have both of them which I haven't used for a while.
I'm going on an all inclusive holiday and will be taking some cash so hopefully won't need to use a credit card much if at all, but it is always useful to have one just in case.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

Yes, I get that as well on Firefox 14.0.1 using Linux (Fedora 17).
Given I have absolutely NO intention whatsoever of clicking on that link to sign up for Aqua Secure, I haven't worried about it appearing to be broken.I did notice that when I made a couple of online purchases that a MasterCard Secure window popped up fleetingly, but I wasn't asked to enter my password details and the transaction went through all right.
I get that too. And I think it is absolutely fantastic. All my online transactions have gone through swimmingly so far with no messing about with any Mastercard Securecode rubbish.
I am loving this card very much. With the 3% cashback, no foreign transaction fees, and very easy online payments it is simply wonderful. If I can get the credit limit increased to £1600 in a few months time it will be just perfect.
I really hope they don't pull this card in 12 months time.0 -
