Nonetheless, I'd be quite cynical about that e-mail, but incompetence could explain it.
Just for fun, I clicked the "credit limit increase" button even though I've only just got the card.
Obviously they said no. But the reply was from "cardmemberservices@halifax.co.uk" and the email was signed with exactly the same address details as in gt94sss2's post above.0 -
I have discovered something fantastic with this card.
I have done two online transactions now, and both times it has come up "authorising with Aqua Secure" and it has just gone through without prompting.
I expected it to come up forcing me to register for the awful Mastercard Securecode thing, but it really does appear to be optional unlike most other cards.
I can never remember the password for the thing, and whenever I reset the password it only ever seems to ask me for my name and date of birth! Hardly secure - it's just an additional layer of fluff that doesn't help.
I really hope it carries on like this and doesn't force me to activate the Aqua Secure rubbish. :j0 -

Lloyds TSB do the same with me, they're just automatically fraud scoring the transaction and information they can gather about your computer such as the IP address to see if it's genuine. You can get three kinds of completion, automatic approval which you experienced, password prompt (which you're fearing) and fraud where it says it failed and gives you a number to call and when you do they inform you that they suspect the transaction was fraudulent.
To be honest I like their system the most and I've applied for an Aqua card so I look forward to using a similar system.0 -
With my ex-Egg Barclaycard it asks me for the password every damn time. I suppose that means I end up remembering it, it just bugs me that it's an extra hoop to jump through for a system that blatantly offers hardly any additional protection.0

I'm sorry if this has already been covered, I've not been able to find it. They gave me an initial limit of £500, which this thread seems to indicate is standard.
I've read someone asked for a limit increase immediately and was declined - has anyone succeeded in getting a decent limit, and if so how long did you wait before applying?
If I'm making any reasonable sized purchases £500 may not be enough, for month to month spending it's probably just enough.. but I'm going to be fearful of going over the limit - I guess that's just what I have to endure to get the £100 a year back!0 -

You can pay off the card at any time so you can reach your limit multiple times within the month and pay it off. I suppose depending on the speed of the payments you could theoretically get the full amount of cashback in one month even with a £500 limit.0 -
just looked at my online statement, doesn't seems to state the amount of cashback earned for the first month. Anyone know whether this information is shown anywhere?0

I've just applied for an Aqua credit card and been declined....
I've never had any problems with credit (always paying my credit card off every month etc.). I'm in full time employment earning £30k+ and yet Aqua refused me. Does anyone know why????0 -
