So all said and done, at least in my case it does not appear that Aqua rejects people with "perfect" credit histories - maybe just gives them a lower limit - mine is £500.

Interestingly I'm in much the same position, a pretty much "perfect" credit history (to the extent that I'm unlikely to be profitable as I never incur credit card interest), and was offered a £500 initial credit limit.

I also have the Halifax Clarity Rewards card, but was planning on using the Aqua card primarily for overseas purchases in preference simply for the better return, at least for as long as the 3% is on offer.

Of course customers like us won't be profitable for them, so I do wonder if they are using a restricted credit limit as a means of constraining such periodic heavy overseas use, even though a steady spend would still allow the maximum cashback to be earnt without exceeding the limit or paying it off early (only just with the payment going out mid-month).

I also can't see any way of tracking cashback earned to date on the online account management - not sure if that appears on the statements (which I haven't yet had), or you have to track it yourself in order to spend the 'right' amount :)

The T&Cs state that cashback earned each month is presented on your statement, so you should be able to track it that way. I've no idea if this is rounded down or whatever (like when they decide to pay out at the end of the year and round down to the nearest £5).

I have applied for an Aqua Card (Cashback) as they sent me a letter with an application form encoraging me to apply as they deal with sub prime and it has been indicated I may be their target market.

Days before I did a generic check on Experian to see what my credit record fits in regards to cards. No surprise it only came back with one which was Vanquish. Not interested in them as part of Welcome Finance who I defaulted with and can not see them acceptng me even though now satisfied.

I applied online and it came back and said they would come back with a decision in up to 10 days. It has been 10 days. The day I applied I had a record come up as a search was completed by them on Equifax and today I have had an alert for Experain.

What are others experience in achieving a card?

    Thank you in advance.

P.S I have asked my friend who has a card already and the Cashback is only for accounts opened before end of this month.

My card arrived today. I got my PIN yesterday.

I haven't had the fun of phoning up to (not) activate the card yet. [:rotfl:]

I applied on 3 July. Sent my credit agreement back on 7 July. They will have received it on 9 July so that's two full weeks to getting the card.

My credit application came within 2 days, sent it back a week last Monday, not had card or pin yet.
