Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

They have owed me nearly £300 since the 22nd January (rebate + cashback) Wonder if I should try for some interest !!
Do you mean a refund credited by a retailer? If so it probably will reduce the £100 cashback you think you will get
If I were you, I would start a formal complaint if your account has been closed and they will not return so much money promptly - that will start the clock officially ticking
e.g. after 8 weeks you can go to the FOS who probably will award interest at 8% if asked.0 -

Your right I did lose a bit of cashback when I got the rebate but I still think they should return my money and add a bit of interest !0 -
I'm genuinely curious whether the delays are deliberate, or down to incompetence.
I can see some advantage in not paying immediately, and I also can understand why they stopped the 3% offer - we are unprofitable customers, after all.
But, by being slow, they've also damaged their brand. So, if hypothetically, a friend came to me and said, "I've got a poor credit history, but want to rebuild it, and will pay off my card in full each month," I doubt I'd recommend aqua to them. Which is rather silly of aqua.
I think its down to all 3, I have now had' your cheque is in the post' three times in three weeks. Still, I guess it will be handy for Christmas:mad:0 -
I have to admit, I am still quite baffled as to why people are getting so angry about the delays in sending out the cheques, and feel the need to repeatedly phone Aqua up to ask where their cheque is. I really doubt you will speed up delivery of your cheque by continually pestering them about it.
I'm sure there are reasons why this is important to some, but I can't see them myself.0 -
Given the low take up of the new card, perhaps some people's jobs in the call centre would be under threat if it weren't for these repeated queries. Perhaps the staff are on a go slow because they know they'll be surplus to requirements after this task is complete.0

Like I said previously, it is not the fact that we haven't received them as such as it is the fact they're obiously lying their butts off when we call. False promises.
I also said if they had told me in the beginning I would be waiting until christmas, I would have been a bit disgruntled but I would have waited patiently until then.
The fact that I was told "it will be with you next week" (when it is clearly cobblers) every fortnight is somewhat annoying.0 -

Not quite true. The Capital One Classic Extra card has no foreign fees for purchases and rewards you 0.5% with an extra £10 every year.I wish I had realised that at the time. I'd have opted for the new card rather than just letting it close.
Oh well. I have a Post Office card now for foreign transactions.
I was curious whether the low take-up (from purely anecdotal evidence on here) would mean they'd look for new customers. Lo and behold the current reward card is available on their website! So anyone who feels they're missing out can sign up again0 -

Some of us may go a little too far in being control freaks but I bet the same people don't forget to pay their debts. None of us are perfet but I think I'd rather have control freak tendancies than be so relaxed I forgot to pay debts on time.
I don't see people getting angry - actually I'm quite enjoying the humour.
A single person calling will do nothing, but if they get hundreds of phone calls then I would have thought that's a cost and something that would come to the attention of their management.
I think they've simple been overwhelmed by the numbers and whilst we'd all like things done when they've said, it's not always that easy in practice to up the numbers of trained staff. I am not defending them (oh no), it's just an explanation that companies can't just pull people off the street.0 -
Cheque just dropped through the door:j0
