I assume that any request for a credit limit increase results in a new credit search, can anyone confirm this?
No, I requested credit limit increases a couple of times before they finally agreed, and no credit searches were carried out on any of those occasions. Nothing to be lost by trying, IMHO.0 -
On the increase front, I requested one a few days ago and finally got lifted from £250 to £350. Better than nothing I guess, but seems to back the thought that they're reserving their lending for those with less than perfect histories.
No searches or anything carried out to my knowledge (none have appeared yet, anyway) and I requested via their secure messaging.0 -

I agree, I asked above increasing my £500 limit and got turned down with a letter talking about responsible lending.
Meanwhile a friend who completed a DMP a year ago has had his increased to £700 without even asking!0 -
I had a similar thing recently, asked for an increase, 6 months after my increase from £250 to £350, and got a rejection citing responsible lending. A little frustrating, but mid-month payments don't take much effort.0

So I got my annual statement. Cashback won't be added until next month, but does it mean that I can start accruing cashback for 2013-14 immediately? Or do I need to wait for the "cashback earned" to get reset to £0 before I can earn any more?0
-
You start accruing cashback for year 2 the day after your anniversary date, which should co-incide with a statement date.0

Quick question for those that have used the card abroad.
Am I right in saying that you don't get any fees added for transactions? And is the exchange rate as good as you'd get on others?
I won't need it for cash withdrawals. Thanks in advance.0 -
You get the same exchange rate as any other 0% load Mastercard.0

Oooh, got my £100 cashback a month earlier than their customer service rep said. That's handy.0

Just to confirm, it is possible to buy something above your credit limit if you pre-load the card.
I recall there was some confusion about this - as even though it should be possible (although I know it's against t&cs etc), I don't think it was ever confirmed that it worked.
I had an outstanding balance that had maxed the card out. Wanted to buy something for £400, so chucked £400 on the card. I use the Egg Moneymanager and that showed £250 as available, but if you click into your Aqua statement I could see £400.09 available to spend.
Also impressed that it's instant! Adding the Aqua details to my main bank a/c so could potentially just ping money across for big purchases even whilst in store!
I've been pre-loading since I got the card and now the card is blocked with credit. They said it's for a transaction I did but I can't filter out what it is and they can't help over the phone (useless). Will need to wait for the letter they sent. Won't be pre-loading ever again and use another card to buy over £250.0
