Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

Statement retrieved online yesterday & no reference to it at all!
Do you get a paper statement as well as an online one? If you do, then when you receive your most recent one it should show what has been accumulated. If it still shows as £100 I would contact them again. I got a credit to my account several days after my August statement so I would also check online daily and see if it goes through.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
Let me start by saying everyone is entitled to ask questions, but I will address your points how I see the situation.Quartermass wrote: »1) 3% cashback for customers who pay their bill in full each month is loss making.
And people who don't pay their bill in full each month is profit making. Plus a late payment means no cashback. We can't know which is the bigger group.Quartermass wrote: »2) It's already been withdrawn for new customers
That may or may not mean something. The Santander Zero card has been unavailable for a few years but hasn't changed.Quartermass wrote: »3) When I asked them on the phone they were very careful and said that it would continue month to month for the time being, but that they would notify customers in writing when it was withdrawn.
Call center staff would not know if a product was going to be withdrawn or not in x months time. A sensible staff member would say that the offer is ongoing and not confirm or deny any information that they don't have.Quartermass wrote: »4) The reason why people are talking about the 12 month thing is because the cashback is assessed in 12 month periods. It would be a natural thing for them to honour it for 1 year and then stop it, it may also be easier to administer.
As someone else said, everyone has 12 months at different times.Quartermass wrote: »5) The terms and conditions for financial products can be varied, with notice, and virtually without limit. If they wanted to impose a £100 charge for having the card they could do so. If they wanted to remove the cashback they could do so. If they wanted to close all of the reward cards they could do so.
And if they wanted to boost the cashback to 20% they also could. Saying that something is possible without any information to suggest if it is going to happen, does not mean that it will or even that it is likely. Also, are you currently questioning whether your other credit cards are going to change? What about your phone contract?Quartermass wrote: »I think those 5 reasons are plenty for people to ask the question, and I think the questions are perfectly reasonable and justified.
For me these are questions that don't have answers, and won't have answers until things change. Therefore there's no point in worrying about them.

Anyone else got charged interest? I had about £10 interest on my account. When I called up the advisor showed a complete lack of understanding about how interest works.
Initially she said it was because I hadn't paid the balance in full. When I asked why it wasn't paid in full when it's up to Aqua to do that as per my instruction she changed her tune and said interest is charged between the statement date and the payment date even if I pay off in full. I told her that's not how it works and she started talking about cash withdrawal fees. When I said I've never used my card for that she said she would get someone to call me back.
Admittedly I did get a call back 10 mins later to say it was an error and the interest would be refunded.
I got charged interest for no reason and my wife too! Aqua is one big shambles. When I called them they did not have a clue where the interest came from. They started off with the same bulls*** like they told you to fob me off. Similar story to when my wife called them. Useless bunch.0 -

I had something similar, two statements, the first one with off £490.05 and the next £501.32, but with no explanation for the £10 discrepancy.
I paid it, then wrote in to their head office, and they wrote back saying they don't know what this charge was, and have refunded the £10.00 + £25 courtesy credit and postage.Thank you all for helping me make my day by saving money!0 -
Where people are being charged interest in error, is it always on the statement after the cashback was paid? If so I wonder if their system doesn't recognise the cashback as a 'payment' and is charging interest on the basis that the statement balance was only partially cleared?0

Thanks, I received the paper statement (despite requesting paperless a few months back lol) and it still showed the £100.
Anyway I rechecked online daily as you suggested & finally it showed up as a deduction on Friday.
Many thanks & regards,

Happy to report that have just checked my account today (to see if my payment has credited) and have seen my £90 cash-back as a credit.
Isn't it great to make money out of a credit card co? They've not had a penny out of me in interest or charges. The best bit is I've saved even more as the majority of my purchases are outside of the UK, so no fees or load for use or currency conversion. 😃Don't lie, thieve, cheat or steal.
