Aqua Reward Credit Card - 3% cashback up to £100/year

Does anyone know what Aqua do if you pay the card into credit? And if you still earn cashback on transactions made with any credit on the account?
I phoned Aqua about doing this (as I wanted cashback on a purchase that was way over my credit limit - was just trying!).
Aqua will return any amount that means they owe you money, and it's not a question of having a big purchase going through as anything over your credit limit will be returned.0 -

Apart from "Loyalty Rewards" apparently, as my account is now £85 in credit due to such a reward.0 -

I was wanting to do similar; I'm now a student so pay my bills 4 months at a time. I wanted to pay the whole amount to the aqua card, then get cash back on it all (while saving interest as there's a balance on there at the minute).Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -

Each transaction cannot exceed your credit limit, even though you have more money available due to front loading (that's what this is called, right?). So you can't spend 500 pounds in one go on a 250 pound limit, even if you front load 1000 pounds to it, but you can spend that in, say, 4 transactions of 250 each in rapid succession.
They reserve the right (but not the obligation) to send any amount that put you in credit back to the account it came from, but nobody said they acted on this right yet (but you shouldn't really keep your credit card in credit at 0% interest - if you want low interest, you can get 0.5% elsewhere). I've had my card in credit a few times, once or twice because the monthly DD put me in credit, once because I sent some money in so I could make a transaction, only for them to decline it for whatever reason (Google conversion from Euro to GBP showed the bill still had plenty of wiggle room compared to my limit, but they didn't like it).
Front loading and then paying the bills a few hours later, when the website shows your money under "available to spend", if each bill payment is below your credit limit, should be just fine.0 -

No individual transaction will exceed my credit limit, and none of the money will stay on the card in credit. I guess I'll start by trying to pay the whole amount, if they reject it then I'll just do one month at a time.Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.- Mark TwainArguing with idiots is like playing chess with a pigeon: no matter how good you are at chess, its just going to knock over the pieces and strut around like its victorious.0 -
One for you freebie likers out there.
Apply for an Aqua Classic card through Amazon.co.uk, make a transaction and repay in full for each of the first two months and in the 3rd you will be sent a £20 Amazon voucher0 -
Aqua MasterCard have sent me a letter and it is also on their statement that they have changed their sort code and account number. I am with Lloyds bank so you would think it would be easy to set up a new internet payment to Aqua. Either Lloyds or Aqua have not got together as it is now not possible to set up a payments using the new account code and number as Lloyds still have the old numbers in their system. I have spoken to both Lloyds and Aqua who blame each other.
I am in the same boat as I am also with Lloyds. Worryingly, I have already sent a faster payment for some purchases using the old account number. The money has gone out of the bank but will have to wait a few days to see if it's credited on my Aqua statement.
Also, I received a paper statement today and it shows a balance of zero for everything except my credit limit of £500. According to them I have earned no cashback and made no transactions on my account last month, despite that not being the case. Good job I don't need my statement as proof of purchase for something. I just hope they sort themselves out for next time as my cashback is due soon.0 -
I got my normal statement on the 6th, telling me how much cashback I had earned, how much I'd spent and all that other jazz.
Today I got another statement, which has never happened before. I still have to pay back the same amount, but my cashback has gone back down to zero.
Has this been paid into my bank? Or do I have to ring them up? I think... it's been a year. But I'm not 100%.0 -
If it helps anyone, I sent a FP to Aqua last night using the stored details at First Direct. It's the same details as before the change, as I simply selected Aqua in my list of payees. This is the only place I've heard of changed sort and account number, so I don't know if I missed that or not?!
Anyway, the payment is reflected in my available balance so for me the old details still appear to work.0
