I thought , if I paid whole amount earlier , they won't collect money, cos I don't owe them anything
Only if you make the payment before the statement date. Once the statement is printed, the DD will be collected regardless of any other payments. When I setup the DD, this was clearly explained to me by Aqua. If the bill is large, you could request them to cancel the DD, but you have to contact them at least 7 days in advance of the due date.

It's probably easier now to just spend the cash, but you could request a refund. I don't know how long it'll take to arrive back in your account though.

Thanks for your answer, Gromitt. I admit, I don't remember statement has been already issued or not. I'll probably just use the card for everydays shopping.

I had just had my email request for an increase to my Aqua card limit turned down so I made a phone call and was increased by £300 to £550. I was interested in how they decided on my credit limit and it seems they take into account any other cards I might have and if they are being used and even if they are in credit. So for example if I have cards allowing me £4000 and another £3000 they assume it as debt so they advise that if I have other cards and they are not being used then it would be a good idea to cancel them as it would increase my credit rating when applying for an increase or a new card. That does seems to explain why some of us only get the small limit on additional cards.

Interesting - did they ask for any additional information when you rung them (e.g. current salary or something)? I'd assumed that the system calculates a limit, and it didn't matter how you requested it, but it appears that's not the case. Or maybe they are more generous with increases if you ring them, since it requires more effort to ring them than to press a button on the website.

Taking a while to get my Aqua card but got the PIN today (after two whole weeks of sending back the application). Only a limit of £250 but better than nothing I guess.

Yes they did ask for extra information such as income and saving etc. The main problem was that I had a number of credit cards which reduced my credit rating even tho' all the cards where in credit.

I just recommended my sister gets one of these cards, but we went to the website just now and saw they're no longer offering it. When did this happen? Could it mean they could eventually also withdraw the cashback element for everyone who currently has one?

Of course they can do this at any time.

That is a clever link as it goes direct to the application form and not via the home page which is not at the moment showing the cashback card

nice link, but since they're not advertising it on their home page, will they still accept the application?

The page about the card is still up on their website: http://www.aquacard.co.uk/credit-cards/reward-card too, which one could quite reasonably get to directly via google. Of course, it's always possible they won't accept it, but I expect it's more likely they will.
