At the checkout, present your Bonuscard and Aquacard and tell them how much you want to save. Maximum is £1,000.
If you save £25 the till receipt will say, 'savings purchased' £25.
After a day visit 'my-bonus-card-home'. It will show £26.
None of this £26 is converted to bonus point. You can not withdraw your savings in cash. It can only be used for purchases from Iceland.
Next time you shop, tell them to take payment from your savings.
At the same time, you may use your CC and add savings of £1 to £1,000.
Have a good read at 'Saving with your Bonus Card' at

Another thing I like about Iceland is their free home delivery. Tesco and Sainsburys make a charge. But range at Iceland is much less.
But as you say, " there might be some tricks involve in conversion that we have not found yet, who knows .... " :eek:I am interested in knowing further about saving in Bonus Card.
3% return plus £1 for every £25 spend is worthy.
However I do not understand how does it works. I have bonus card with Iceland. But I get it in form of bonus point not real money (£).
So if you save say £100 to get £4 in return, do not they put it in bonus point instead of real pound (£) value ? If so I will still need to ditch it further they way they convert £ to bonus point, there might be some tricks involve in conversion hat we have not found yet, who knows ....0 -
Thanks great info.
I think here they earn from the money that people save. They give back £1
but the £25 there could stay for several month even a year .....At the checkout, present your Bonuscard and Aquacard and tell them how much you want to save. Maximum is £1,000.

Still haven't spoken to Aqua (work pressure, they shut by the time I'm able to call them), but I think I know what made an earmark over my limit. It wasn't Amazon (they did their job). It was... drums please... A REFUND! Yes, I've seen this once before with Aqua: when a refund is coming in, they _earmark_ some of your available to spend. The heck is that?0

MBNA do this as well. Think it's a limitation of the payment clearing system - when the transaction is pending, it isn't identified as a refund so is assumed to be a purchase.0

I've noticed that the Reward Card is no longer linked to from the homepage, or from the "credit card range" page, but the page about the card and application system is still up. So there's a good chance the product is being temporarily/permanently withdrawn.
So if there's anyone lurking who was thinking of applying soon, now might be a good time to apply.
Looks like it has gone now. Please correct me if I am wrong though as I wish to apply.0 -

Thanks a lot Martyn. I noticed it was not on the 'best cashback cards' page and recall it may have been before. But anyway, I've just applied and been accepted so you can have a rare 'thanked post' from me.0 -
I had just had my email request for an increase to my Aqua card limit turned down so I made a phone call and was increased by £300 to £550. I was interested in how they decided on my credit limit and it seems they take into account any other cards I might have and if they are being used and even if they are in credit. So for example if I have cards allowing me £4000 and another £3000 they assume it as debt so they advise that if I have other cards and they are not being used then it would be a good idea to cancel them as it would increase my credit rating when applying for an increase or a new card. That does seems to explain why some of us only get the small limit on additional cards.0

So for example if I have cards allowing me £4000 and another £3000 they assume I could suddenly max out the use of the cards including their own cards. Or a good idea to cancel them so you only use their productthere are advantages in keeping cards open in the same way as there are disadvantages.

Hello!
I've got my Aquacard since November last year, £500 limit and paid by DD whole amount. However, earlier this month, I've made card payment on my card, so I had zero balance . And they still took money from my bank account! About £230. Now my Aquacard account shows over £700 available balance. I thought , if I paid whole amount earlier , they won't collect money, cos I don't owe them anything . I send them a message, no response yet. Has anybody been in a similar situation?0
