  • Thanks. Is there an SMS/phone service where you can get an accurate balance?

There is a phone number on the back of the card that I call when making a payment. I have had a nightmare with setting up a dd using the online system, it may just be me but have found the site pretty useless, so make payments using the automated system.

Is this just me having problems accessing the website? I also haven't worked out how to access the cashback reward either!

AFAIK the cashback total only appears on your bill, not on the website. Making faster payments to your card using your bank's online banking website is the quickest & easiest way to pay off the card (other than by direct debit).

They can't give you a cash advance and declare it as a purchase simply because they'd lose money.

I've heard several people say Wilkinson's do this.
I reckon they shouldn't but it comes from enough sources that it's not a one-off mistake.

I have an Iceland Bonus Card. It has as savings scheme. For every £25 saved, the savings gets credited with £26. I have payed using credit cards including Aqua. These payments have always gone through as purchases and have earned cashback.
Only point to remember is that the one can not make cash withdrawals. Savings can be used only for making purchases from Iceland. This can be done two days after making the saving.
As an illustration, if one were to save £100 per month, the savings bonus would amount to £48 per year. In addition, you get £36 as cashback from Aqua.

    It has as savings scheme.

This is similar to vouchers which are purchases.
What I was talking about was getting real cash from the till.

I have not seen the advantage of using Aqua Card for put Saving to Bonus Card.

Once saving have been made to bonus card we can not get Cash back from Aqua anymore.

So what is the difference with just using it when you are buying something from Iceland and get Cash back as you purchase ?

Is it because of £1 additional that you will get for every £25 saved ?
Do the really credit £1 if we put £25 on bonus card ?
Your experience sharing will be very much appreciated ...

    thanks

Purchase £100 on Bonus Card using Aqua CC.

    It costs you £100.

You get an extra £4 to spend at iceland.
You get £3 from Aqua to spend on whatever you like.

So a total cashback of £7 or 7%. Not bad.

However, I was told in the shop that the £4 bonus is only valid once per year, apparently it's meant that you save up every week and then use it to pay for your xmas shopping, etc.

Since I spend about £52/year in iceland, I declined to the offer of the bonus card.

Saving made to Iceland Bonus Card goes through as a purchase and you get the usual 3% cashback from Aqua

When you add saving to the Iceland Bonus Card, you get £26 for every £25 paid in. You don't get this extra 4% when buying something from Iceland without saving first.

You do really get £1 for every £25 put on the bonus card as savings.
Plus you get 3% cash back from Aqua.

Refer to the illustration in my original post.
Note that £1 bonus for every £25 saved for just two days.
If you were to work out the APR, it would be phenomenal!

£26 for £25 is not limited to £4 per year or paying for Xmas shopping. Check it out at Iceland website.
Iceland Bonus Card is free and has other benefits.
Even if the spend is about £52/year in iceland, using their saving scheme is worth an extra 4%. Much more on an APR basis.
