Tesco/Asda sells it for under £3.00 for 6 tins, my lot like the one that is "fish variety" and between the 4 of them they only have 2 tins per day plus they top up on dry food.
My Daisy eats that one until she goes off it for a while,it's not a bad cat food for the price.Stay away from Cat Club tho...that one is cheap n nasty.
Tesco's own brand is not as good as Asda's own brand as well I've found.0 -
Lily has Sainsburys dry food (along with a daily pouch of Whiskas, or Gourmet if she's really lucky) and she absolutely thrives on it.
Vet always compliments her on her soft and shiny coat, how many cats does he see in a week lol.0 -
Try the tesco cat biscuits 5kg bag which does my 7 for a month is about £5 something and they love it! Plus the tesco cat food is pretty good I use 2 cans a day split between 6 and the 7th is my housemate's and he buys Claud pouches.
Then when i'm in Tesco or Asda I look on the reduced for cheap meat and bulk their food out with that as a treatFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
I'd be having a think about GRADUALLY introducing more dry food and less wet. Plus, always ensure that their drinking-water is somewhere other than next to their food bowls. My little fella has three on different window-sills.
Two cats could be costing you only four quid a week in food and litter. Could that be afforded?0 -
£4 a week - heck - yes i could afford that.
I do need to buy cat litter as well though. The Daleks Reign Supreme, All Hail The Daleks!0 -

I will get on to it.
I would never that thought of it.

May be worth politely asking if anyone has any Cat food AND / OR litter spare?
I know lots of people have fussy cats etc. so they would probably be happy to pass it on!"Things can only get better.................c/o D:Ream #The 90's"

Some great advice on here. I hope this makes things a bit easier for you. Moving house is not realistic for most, so feel for you, as have been there.
I remember giving my 1st dog the last bit of chicken out of my freezer, and giving myself egg, and chips for supper when I was really skint (a few years back), and raiding my larder when desperate for tinned tuna, ham, or corned beef to mix with rice for him. Sometimes even the odd piece of chopped bread, and butter with his meat. It never harmed him, and he lived till he was 16/17.
Is there anyway you could cut down a utility bill, such as the internet? I've saved myself a fortune on my mobile, housephone etc, by switching my mobile to 3 (£12 per month 300 mins, 3000 texts, 1 gig internet, instead of the £26 I was paying with T-mobile), and landline & broadband £15.78 per month total (was previously costing up to £88 with my previous provider ).New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
I am so pleased that you are trying to sort it out.
We have two cats we got from the RSPCA two years ago. ( My boys as the kids calls them ) Whole family adores them esp after our old dog died. I can not imagine how hard it must be to even contemplate giving them up.
We sometimes go to the RSPCA to drop off bits when it is on offer or in a daze I have bought the wrong stuff and it brakes my heart to see so many poor un-loved animals. It is really quiet sobering and humbling to see.
The dried food does work. A lot less wastage. It also does not smell. ( not like we food can ) My two only have wet food every so often and they are leaner, their coats are much more glossy and the vet says they are in top form.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0
