Thats exactly what im saying, i dont know the posts you are talking about or what has gone on, but your right, if the owner doesnt want something discussed thats his choice. Yours and mine opinion doesnt count. This forum is owned by someone. What they say goes. Thats the end of it. They do not need to justify there choices. It is there site. Simple.Copy from one, it’s plagiarism; copy from two, it’s research.0 -
And the game continues"363 Licence required for use of TV receiver
(1) A television receiver must not be installed or used unless the installation and
use of the receiver is authorised by a licence under this Part.
(2) A person who installs or uses a television receiver in contravention of
subsection (1) is guilty of an offence.
(3) A person with a television receiver in his possession or under his control
who—
(a) intends to install or use it in contravention of subsection (1), or
(b) knows, or has reasonable grounds for believing, that another person
intends to install or use it in contravention of that subsection,
is guilty of an offence."
I'd guess you were arguing that possession of an installed receiver doesn't count if you do not actually use it; basing your view on the TV licensing website.
You should have looked at the Law instead.
I wish you BBC "people" would,What if I only use a TV to watch videos/DVDs/as a monitor for my games console? Do I still need a licence?
You do not need a TV Licence if you only use your TV to watch videos and DVDs or as a monitor for your games console.

Please note I provided a link proving your giving inaccurate information out like most pro BBC "people" do.0 -

I doubt the owner knows some of the "moderators" are ignoring the terms and conditions. I doubt he'd like having members keep going off-topic in attacks like some individuals on the locked threads did.
Now if "Thats the end of it" please move along. I find it alarming that certain people want all negative discussion on the BBC blocked/censored0 -
You are going the right way about getting this thread removed.
This is not a general discussion part of the forum, it is for site feedback.
This thread has gone full circle and become a discussion about the BBC and not the site.0 -

Does it not worry you that certain people want this censorship here, we are living in the UK and not North Korea you know.
I did start this as feedback but as you can see these "people" wont even allow this when it comes to the BBC, think about it.
EDIT: My apologies, I see you were the first person jumping in acting as a back seat moderator, kind of ironic considering what you've just said0 -

Pot, Kettle, Black comes to mind.
An example of your giving wrong information was this post from another thread which was about the chance to become a youview trialist and nothing to do with tv licences in generalThe_Safordian wrote: »When I first seen this I thought great but then I seen this and thought something's not quite right here.

have a valid television licence
A BBC TV Licence isn't required to watch catchup TV so why would they put that in. I decided to check the partners and seen this

The BBC
YouView is a critical part of the BBC's strategy for meeting its public purposes in the connected digital age
So rather than just be honest and say a TV Licence isn't required they've put it in making sure people who don't need one will think they do, that's just plain wrong and very underhand
It is not wrong or underhand and has nothing to do with not needing one for catch-up Tv. If they say in the terms and conditions to be a trialist a TV licence is required then a TV licence is required.0 -

Why are you now trying to change the subject to the Catchup trial. I did point out that a BBC TV Licence isn't required for catchup and the above posts prove this too.
Please stop trying to hi-jack this thread. What we see here is proof of what I've been saying.0 -

Just a response to what you in this thread have already saidThe posts in question which were removed included links which proved someone was giving the wrong information. The person in quetion was telling readers everyone who owned a TV needed a BBC TV Licence which isn't true
On the other hand your post on the YouView trail had nothing to do with the trial terma and conditions.0 -

Do you agree with people trying to censor issues they don't want the public chatting about, Yes or No?On the other hand your post on the YouView trail had nothing to do with the trial terma and conditions.
Now I know you are just being funny. I create a thread about people trying to get threads locked by going off-topic and it keeps happening here. If this doesn't show something is wrong nothing will0
