So sorry for your loss, OP. I too lost my mum recently - 9 weeks ago - and very suddenly. I lost my beloved dad 20 years ago, but somehow this feels a lot, lot worse.

You're probably very well aware that the next few days, weeks, months will be tumultous. Does it get easier? I don't know yet, but here's to hoping...

My deepest condolences to you and your family

We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I've just been round visiting my Mom and Dad for fathers day. My mom has cancer of the liver and kidney and she has been in alot of pain for the last 5 days.:(

I've just been thinking I need to do something with her, something to remember, only something silly like buying her cherries and some other fav foods. Just because I can at present......

The coward I am, I'd rather avoid the issue and pretend its not happening.

One of my friends who lost her Dad a couple of years ago came round to visit me and she was saying she has recently moved house and she is missing her Dad even more at present because she knows he would have wanted to do the decorating. Days like today are just painful.

Take care. I'm sorry you've lost a parent. I don't think you ever become used to the idea, however old you are.:(
But if ever I stray from the path I follow
Take me down to the English Channel
Throw me in where the water is shallow And then drag me on back to shore!
'Cos love is free and life is cheap As long as I've got me a place to sleep
Clothes on my back and some food to eat I can't ask for anything more

your posts have brought tears to my eyes and I dont even know you. Your parents were really blessed to be able to spend 75 years with each other- but it doesn't make it less painful. Take care of yourself and your dad.

I am really sorry to hear your news. Sending huge hugs to you and my condolences. You must all be in such a state of shock at the moment. Take care hun.
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.
