Oh and also I found that to start with I had really bad ingrown hairs but the solution to that is to buy an exfoliating mitt like this http://www.boots.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10052&productId=38242&callingViewName=&langId=-1&catalogId=11051
and do it every night if you can be bothered. It takes away dead skin and lets the hair grow back through easily rather than ingrowing then moisurize

I bought a Braun a few years ago. When I was pregnant I stopped using it (needed something quick) but remember when I did use it my mantra was "childbirth is more painful than this!"
I got fed up with the ingrown hairs but looking at that mitt has made me think about giving it a go again.

I managed to do my armpits, bizarrely I found my knee to be more painful!!!

Thanks Scruffy96, Like Bitsy I stopped using mine as didn't like the lumps it created on my legs which were ingrowing hairs but I'm going to Boots at lunchtime and will try one of these mitts

Just done my legs this morning. Not too painful actually.
Red marks where the hair has been plucked out so cropped trousers for me today.
My biggest bug bear is the hairs on my legs don't seem to grow uniform - some are shorter than others despite all being shaved at the same time. So I will still end up with stubbly legs in a few days time again........

I'm putting that down to the ones that break instead of getting pulled out...

i use the phillips massage one, it has a vibrating massage attachment that kind of dulls the pain - it def works. I used to use it everywhere, underarms/bikini line. Just remember to keep the skin taut and it should be fine.

The only reason I stopped was the ingrown hairs, spesh on the underarms. OUCH

Wasn't worth the hairfree weeks, even though the hair did come back lovely and downy..

But if you use something like tendskin (or homemade tenskin from witch hazel and aspirin to be MS), and can be disciplined about exfoliation etc, it prob wnt be such a problem...

  • I'm a male and I seem to be plagued with hairs growing on the edge of my nose and ears as well as between my eyebrows.

I use tweezers and scissors to contain this at the moment but it seems to be escalating, is there anything I can do to remove these hairs permanently?

    Thanks in advance
  • Any advice on this?

I know someone who had laser treatment - this was for the general beard area as he needed to shave two to three times a day. It's worked really well. It was expensive but worth the money.
  • Thanks for that.

Was the treatment performed at a specialised clinic?
