  • CAN I JOIN PLEASE!!!???

This is the first challenge i've found that i can really get my head around properly so thank you for such an inspired idea. Even motivated me to price up some old textbooks that hopefull should get my first %. only problem is that fatbrain are offering the best prices on my book by a mile but did you say on an earlier post they are really fussy? i have a few that i got second hand and although i havent added to the damage, some of the covers are a bit 'weathered' no tearsor bent corners but edges are not sharp anymore does that make sense?! also some of them have the stamps in from the college (college doesnt exist any more-i bought them in closing down sales-really good deal) does that sound like something they'd accept based on the experience you have all had?

I am going to tackle each cc in turn and then the loan so for now my 1% is £27 and i'm starting it from current total so my progress is 0%

good luck everyone - i'll post what i'm doing if its different to suggestions of others. so far i'm planning to do books and ebaying. I always find ebay a bit offputting with all the work and potential low bids so am going to do focussed selling on free listing weekends and list higher starting bids and focus on just getting enough on there for 1/2% and pick a theme: clothes/toiletries sets/ ornaments etc.

i dont know if it has been mentioned on here already but i made good money one summer at uni raising plants from very cheap seeds and then selling on when they were big enough to survive in garden. also made up hanging baskets. involves some outlay but you might be able to get hold of free baskets/pots from freecycle etc. also try stables for free manure to sell on/use in your garden. often they have to pay to get it removed so get a good base for homemade compost really cheaply. more demand later in the season but most of us will be at this for a while so worth remembering into next year :-)

    Hi,
I've paid off another 7% today from money transferred from my paypal account from ebay sales. This puts me on 14% so far :) I'm a bit stuck now though, I don't really have any thing else to sell apart from stuff that will go for 99p. I'm trying swagbucks at the moment too but apart from that not sure what else to do...

Morning all! Two days off work now so I have no excuse than to dig out 'stuff' for ebay and have a good clear out in the process. Been doing overtime so hopefully next week will have a few extra %'s to add to the fund. Also have another % pending in paypal to add to car fund! Getting started on more craft items tonight and if im lucky i might just treat myself to a decent nights sleep!

    Morning everyone,

No new % to add. I'm a bit annoyed at myself. I was bidding on an Xbox game for my boyfriend expecting to be outbid (they've been going for £15+ than my max bid lately) and I won it. So it wiped out all my eBay earnings from the weekend! Oh well...I'll enjoy the game, he will be thrilled and I can make a new start.

I've set myself a goal of having 200 items ready to list next free listing (PLEASE be this weekend) and with relists and schedules I'm up to 100 already! I photographed a ton of stuff last night so I'm slowly working my way through listing them....13 down, 37 to go! I also listed to Livejournal last night but those sales have paid for postage since I've cleared out Paypal.

I've also got Swagbucks going on in the background but I'm not in the mood for any surveys.

    Number 45 with an update.

I listed some craft stuff on e-bay, which all sold for £28, and some jewellery has a bid on, so that will be more money in the next couple of days.

I also sold a book on Amazon, and made £2.20 after P&P.
I used some Tesco vouchers against the weekly shop so I got £7.50 off, so I'm adding that to the 1%.

As I'm aiming for £30 as my 1% I'm ahead for this week - but no time to rest on my laurels. There are plenty more books to list, and a box of craft stuff at my feet waiting to go on e-bay.

Would it count towards the %'age tally if I spent a week only using the stuff in the freezer and cupboard instead of buying fresh?

If you then have that money to save/pay off debts/put towards whatever you're using this challenge for then I don't see why not.

For example, I don't count vouchers because I can't afford to put that money aside towards a %, whereas other people see it as saving that % and it counts. So I think it is totally up to you!

I've paid my hidden Paypal money to my credit card and therefore managed to add another 2%.... so I'm now at 6% within a month of starting as a 1%er!

I've reached 13% today - doing nothing at all. the first 3% came because i miscalculated the payment - it was less than i thought.:j
Then i managed to have £80 left in the bank at the next payday so another 10% closer.:D
