    Hi Smoosh and welcome :)

Well my Asda order arrived. Stocked up for months with toothpaste, loo roll and other toiletries :) Also got enough weetabix to last until end of august for the kids. Extra beans, soup and enough potatoes to fill the freezer with HM chips :j got a few other bits too.

Ive devised a plan of what we are going to live off for the next 4 months whilst we save to pay our car off. Well a loose plan, for those who are interested:

    Breakfast
weetabix (own brand) for the kids (2 each), eggs (from our chickens) and bacon of various forms ( bacon and cheese omlette and scrambled egg/bacon), small glass of fresh juice.

    Lunch
For me and kids will be, either soup and sandwiches, egg dish, beans on toast, pasta and sauce, jackets/chips with various sides. Yogurt for the kids after

    Snacks
Grapes occasionally, bananas, almonds, cucumber and dip, jam on toast etc HM cakes and biscuits.

    Dinner
Various things like HM chips and omlette, corned beef hash, cottage pie, pasta bake etc etc. Veg on the side, usually peas, broccoli or carrots

    Supper
    Porridge or banana.

Does that seem quite balanced? It will be relatively cheap i think as we will drink water the rest of the time apart from morning juice. Eggs are plentiful in this house. So i think ill just need butter, cheese, bread, bacon, bananas, veg and potatoes weekly with meat as i can afford/on offer etc and top ups of oats, weetabix, tinned goods, baking goods etc Thinking it will bring our food bill down ALOT without the kids noticing too much! :D

My friend sent me some fabric so i can make a friends baby shower present and she also gifted me a little newborn dress and long sleeved top set, really touched :o another cute little outfit for the baby :) Getting there slowly. :T

Well ive waffled on alot as usual, best get off and check my ebay sales :) x
Wow you are super organised. I think i may need to do this to get my astronomical food bill down!
    Waste not, want not!
Slow and steady wins the race!

Ordered ASDA but my quidco isnt showing up yet, does it take a while?
Yes, quidco does take a while to show up. It should show up as 'tracked' at least soon! Awesome food plan you have set out! Very organised! I have trouble persuading myself to have breakfast each day! I need to get better at that

Yes but I may end up living in a rather empty house at this rate!
Ah minimalist! I like it, very Zen :D

@zepsgal - That's a big challenge saving up for a deposit too, great news that he will sell it to you though! Lots can be achieved in 9 months so anything is possible! :)

    @cubacat - Spot on, there's a simpler way - just divide what you have saved by your 1%. So £50 / £27 is 1.85%

As a general update, I've managed to do an extra hour each day this week so that should be a nice half a percent!

I'm considering entering the Shopify build-a-business competition. I've meant to do it for the past couple of years. Just brainstorming ideas at the min! It would be awesome to get something profitable off the ground like that!

If anyone knows of any latest fashion items or trends that are getting popular let me know!

Other than that quite a ordinary week. Got to withdraw my cash from ebay and elance for a few things so that's on the total this week.

Might just have a little treat and go to the Cinema (on Orange Wednesdays of course! :))

Well, today I finally went to the Post Office and exchanged 25 euros I had left from a work trip last month. I was kind of saving them for a rainy day but I am very close to OD bottom until I get paid at weekend. So I got £17ish, £10 of which I'm going to try and save towards my target.

I'm also on a Casual Employment Register for an old employer - I haven't heard from them for a while since I had to turn down some shifts, so I emailed and said I could work weekends over the holidays and got offered a day in August, so that will be an extra £60 I think.. none of it is in my pocket yet though!

Hopefully I can save something in my bank account this month that I can transfer across to my ISA. I'll let you know at the end of a carrot and potato-based week! :-)

Evening :) I've entered another few competitions today - one from a chocolate bar (to win a free tank of fuel, didn't win *sigh*) and last week's take a break. It's unlikely I'll win but at least I get a free mental workout. Magazine out tomorrow so another round of quizziness to follow.

Still no closer to attaining any percents. :( However, my grocery challenge finishes in 7 days time so I should know if there are any percents there (on track for 1% at the mo).

    K xx

Also, I was thinking earlier that for those of you who would like to turn your crafting into a business, I have bought things before from notonthehighstreet

They sell things from hundreds of small crafty type businesses, many of which I think have been set up by Mums at their kitchen tables!

Just thought it might be worth mentioning for those who might want to make more from their crafting. I think you have to apply to get accepted, but if you think your crafts are a bit different and at the necessary standard, then it might be worth a shot.
Notonthehighstreet is a wonderful site BUT apparently they only take 1 in 300 applicants, and they charge up to £500 to handle the business for you as a start up fee to maintain the standards.

I've calculated I need £3000 for the kitchen remodelling to be adapted for working around post stroke - repositioning appliances, electrics, plumbing, shelving etc, as well as some extra units and doors. I guess that means I need £30 per week for my 10%. I've got a load of books together to put on Amazon tomorrow, and photos of craft stuff to list on e-bay on the next free listing day. It will take ages as I'm slow typing and can only do a few minutes at a time, but worth it.
I've cut out a photo of my 'dream' kitchen and will be marking off every 10% on a sheet underneath.

Can I have a number too please to take part officially?

Greetings Team 1% :D (Am I allowed to say that or will the Olympics Committee come after me?)

Ali-t - I've added you onto the list, let me know when you're settled on a target. Perhaps get a few ideas of prices - I know some places are crazy expensive for dentistry work.

Have you considered applying to a dentistry college? They have them in some of the bigger cities or linked to schools of medicine. I've no idea how good/cost/convenient they might be, but when I was younger they were always looking for volunteers for their students (under very strict supervision).
There was one dentist in Cheshire advertising for people to do teeth bleaching.

A few things are ending today on ebay... I listed some old surround sound speakers which I was just going to throw out, but the success of the bladeless razor inspired me to list on my 'rubbish' ;). They're at £30! I can't believe it, its not even a make I've heard of...
Also sold a very old cross trainer that was given to me a few months ago for £32, so quite pleased. I will update my % once I've transferred the money after fees. It just goes to show one man's junk is a another man's treasure :)

    Morning everyone!

I'm feeling productive today. Spent almost all of yesterday baking up lots of bits to use up all my reduced bits that I got the other day, and I've already tidied the house today :) (although, it's still a bit of a state with boxes everywhere, but I think that can be excused because of the imminent move :p).

I need to get some more bits listed on ebay, I'm kind of running out of stuff though! Going to put a bunch of books and some clothes on there all at 99p and just see how it goes - better than just binning them I suppose!

Still haven't had any feedback left from the last few lots of stuff I sold. I posted it on Monday, so I really hope it's there by today!
